Buffalo Mountain Lodge

Returning to Banff after 20 years away was a dream, and Buffalo Mountain Lodge made it unforgettable. We were married two decades ago on the field right across from the lodge with Rundle Mountain as our backdrop, so staying here was incredibly nostalgic. We were delighted to be upgraded from a standard room to a suite, which made our anniversary trip feel even more special. The king-size bed was exceptionally comfortable, and we spent every evening enjoying the authentic wood-burning fireplace. The outdoor hot tub was a highlight, and the service was top-notch—they even called us five minutes after check-in to ensure we were happy! We even bought the beautiful wooden coasters from our room at reception as a souvenir. We’ll be back for sure, and we’re definitely booking the suite next time—the luxury is well worth it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Travelling as a family of 4, with teens, we found the room spacious. Really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and in room fireplace.

Great place to stay at in Banff! We had a premium room at 2nd floor with a mountain view. The view of the mountain wasn’t direct but the woods were very calming and serene. I loved the smell of mist in the morning. The best part about this stay was the hot outdoor pool! We enjoyed it a lot and it is very well maintained. The lodges are 20 mins walk from downtown and there is free parking available at the hotel. The room was very clean and super cosy. The staff lit the fire for us everytime we needed it and we loved the scent of fire while enjoying the view from the window. Charlie is a star! She sorted out our booking as it had to be rescheduled due to a snow storm. We had to book an extra night after we have arrived to avoid driving in a yellow wind warning. She sorted that for us too and got us to stay in the same room so we don’t have to worry about moving. She is very empathetic, knowledgeable, helpful and her efforts made our stay MAGNIFICENT! We are definitely coming back!

We had a great time at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. We had a beautiful modern unit and it was our anniversary. Such a treat!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Buffalo Mountain Lodge. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming. To our surprise, the staff kindly upgraded us to a premium room, which made our stay even more special. My husband was able to relax in the beautiful bathtub, and it was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway we were hoping for. We especially loved the fireplace and enjoyed sitting by it every evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we slept so well. Even the small details stood out — the Nescafé coffee in the room was something we looked forward to every morning. Thank you to the staff for making our stay so memorable and relaxing. We truly appreciated the kindness and hospitality and would love to come back again.

Love the Buffalo Mountain lodge! It's just far away from downtown that you don't get all the crowds. They just redesigned the restaurant, which is a super cool space. Has a low key alpine ski lodge vibe.

This is a nice place to stay away from the hustle bustle of town but still very close just a couple minutes. There was a fireplace in our premium yeah hi this is Steve hi hi yeah yeah yeah 720 499 second my memory is 4378 let's see whoops did you say yeah thank youroom, and it's important to know how to use them; they can become Smokey if they the wood is not pushed away from the front of the fireplace. They stock the wood every day which is nice and provide fire starter. The beds were very comfortable and our bathroom was big with a tub and a shower. I think the few negatives were just the difficulty with the parking lot and then having to walk up and then down the stairs and a room was kind of far away from everything which made carrying skis and luggage and everything kind of a pain. If you have a large vehicle like a truck it is definitely tight parking there but we were able to get a spot every night I don't think the restaurant is great and I was not impressed with breakfast. I think from an amenity standpoint it would be nice if they had a cafe with good espresso and not just a cheap machine there it would also have been nice if they had some pastries and some better food there but it was no big deal there's a big hot tub that's built in that was well maintained and it's a very quiet place to say so I would recommend it especially for people who want a bit more nature than you get staying in town. All my staff interactions were excellent.
