Monte Carlo Inn Toronto - Markham

I don't normally complain, like about anything but wow. This place is a mess. Very dirty, room. Found bugs in first room I was given. Asked for a new room. Staff complied but to no surprise the next room had them too. I unfortunately had to remain at this hotel because I was attending a conference being held here and after a recent surgery I was unable to drive. Resigned to my dirty room I continued to find bugs every morning in my bathroom and after thoroughly checking my bed closer there they were. Also was also lucky enough to find a bonus toenail on the carpet (not mine). After looking into it these bugs seem to be pharaoh ants. Very invasive and hard to get rid of. Which is why I was surprised to see that the room they moved me out of the day before (which was a few doors down from the new one) was rented out to another guest immediately. Clearly my very polite complaint and description of bugs wasn't taken very seriously nor do they plan to do anything about it. Good luck if you decide to stay here but they charge you full price upon check in and then I was told I couldn't receive a partial refund or credit because I had already paid. Cool. If I could rate lower than 1 I would. I don't fully blame staff because what exactly are they supposed to do it's just a desk job but my goodness. If you stay here please check your bathroom/bed/garbage cans for these bugs because you WILL find them and they will come out in full force it you decide to eat anything in your room

Stayed one night and got in late so we just went straight to bed. In the morning the bathroom had tiny ants on the counter. They got all over my bathroom bag and I had to bag it up so it didn’t spread to my luggage. I did complain in morning but front desk just said call manager. I did call and left a message but they never go back to me.

Staff are friendly. Beakfast is good.

Good balance between the price and quality.

Nice looking place. Has chromecast which I usually look for. But if you care about comfortable beds I wouldn’t recommend sleeping here. If they got more comfortable / less firm beds I’d be happier. Also their restaurant closes really early so we didn’t get to check it out. Location is decent though.

I enjoyed my stay

There were ants both on the bed and the washroom counter. I left with bites.

The staff was very friendly. The jacuzzi tub didnt work. The bed was getting pretty tired and could be replaced. The room, while generally clean, is in need of a refresh paint and carpet steam clean.

The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed on the fourth floor. For a non-smoking facility there was a strong cigarette smoke smell in the halls. The room smelled of chlorine (almost like a pool).

Rooms smell and needs window and fresh air, the whole property smells when u enter. I was almost dying of the elevator problem, the owner should spend some money on the rooms and all area . It’s time !!!

Room was good, 2 beds in room and both different height. Bathroom lighting not adequate.

Good service and pleasant environment

The hotel room looks pretty good, but it need to make sure their one and only one elevator is working. Unfortunately, it didn't work during my checkin day. Also, they need to put more air freshener in their rooms to get rid of previous guest's smell.

Very good

The place was clean. But the staff was not friendly. The breakfast was limited options. Everything was so cold. There was only one toaster. Had to stay on line to use it. We have not had a worst breakfast than this. In room 416 the exhaust fan in a bathroom was making big noice. We usually like to have the bathroom light on at night but it was so loud that we couldn’t do it. Besides there were small ants in the bathroom sink. Hope they get these things fixed.
