Loved staying here! I’m a gym rat so the fact that they had a gym was AWESOME! They also have their own buffet and sushi restaurant. Their pool was beautiful and had hammocks. Staff was accommodating and they even have excursions you can book directly with the hotel. I went to Tortuga Island, Baldi Hot Springs and La Paz Waterfall - all booked through the hotel. I will come back to Hotel Barcelo, there is no doubt about it! Amazing 10/10 experience!

Very impressed better than what I thought clean rooms, clean hotel. The pool area was very nice. The buffet was actually very good with a lot of things to choose from the on-site restaurants and bar also was a hit very close to everything easy access as well. Highly recommend recommended.

Very Classy property. Live piano in the lobby in the evenings. Choose the superior or premium Level and get into the VIP lounge. It has lots of snacks with a couple of hot foods for each meal time. Pool is beautiful and cold.

This hotel clearly used to be a very nice place, but it just hasn't been maintained and the location is less than ideal. For the price we paid, it was a fine experience, but I likely wouldn't stay again. Because it is surrounded by highways it is impossible to explore the city or even walk to food nearby without taking a taxi (which, during peak traffic times, is a very slow process). We had two rooms and the AC didn't work particularly well in either room and both had strange smells (one like a dentists office, the other was rather unpleasant). In one of the rooms the bathroom door was extremely hard to open/close.
