What Guests Say About Their Stay

This one night stay was so that my wife and I could take our grandson to the hotel where he is staying for 5 nights as he’s on an apprenticeship training course near Telford. Pleasantly surprised with its location just off the M54 the property is modern and is in very good condition. I booked through Hotels.com and paid £81.00 including a very good breakfast for both of us. I understand there is a swimming pool and sauna and possibly a gym (not used) Staff were very polite and helpful and for the money paid you simply cannot complain and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper priced hotel.

The staff were very welcoming & friendly. The lady at reception saved me a trip to Aldi when I realised I had forgotten my toothbrush by given me a complimentary one. The only downside was the lift was out of order and my room was on the top floor. Luckily, I only had a small suitcase to carry up the 49 winding steps.

The pool is absolutely tiny and an extra charge so we decided against using it. Service at the bar was very slow with a long wait for anyone to come to serve for drinks. Doors were being slammed loudly until about 1am. The rooms are very small. Breakfast was good but I ended up with a dodgy tummy pretty much as soon as we left. Would have been much better at a premier in.

Shower awful. Too hot or too cold and a dribble. Avoid room 301. The door outside opens all night and sounds like someone is coming into your room. Otherwise, fine.

The room was in good condition. The staff were courteous. However: The car park is payable £5/£10 per night. The pool and gym are also no longer free, that costs £10 per person per day.

Booked a double room, but hotel cocked up and gave us a double. When I went down to complain they said they had no other twins left so would ring around the other hotels, which at 11.30pm was not what we wanted, so - as was with my 17 year old son rather than a work colleague - we stuck with double room. Not ideal at all - a little uncomfortable - but little choice. Person on night shift said to complain to manager in the morning. Manager in the morning said to complain to Expedia - even though they admitted it was their error (as showed evidence that a twin had been booked). Even room we did have had a light bulb missing in one of the main lights, and housekeeping came banging on door at 9.30am in the morning asking if we wanted servicing - which was ridiculous - surely they have a better system for sorting which rooms to clean than going room to room waking everyone up! Reception in the evening was also very slow - as they seemed to have the same person serving behind the bar, serving on reception and doing whatever else needed doing - not good service at all (noting that not because staff had bad attitude - they were generally ok, but just that the whole operation was understaffed / poorly managed). Not sure how to formally complain, so would appreciate a response from Expedia, otherwise will try another route.

Nice hotel lobby, welcoming staff. We didn’t use any facilities but there’s a few sitting areas, pool tables, screen with sports on at the time. All good. The room was pleasant with all the usual amenities. The bathroom was in a good state of repair but not faultless with some mouldy silicone and grout (is that the norm nowadays?) The biggest issue was the noise of other doors slamming as people carelessly let them shut, regularly from 21:00-23:00 and regularly again from 7:00-8:00 onwards. It was an issue for us, but might not be for you!

The hotel was nice. My only disappointment was that you have to pay £10 for parking. If you purchase drinks from the bar over £5.00 parking is free but if you pay over £100.00 for a room you still have to pay for parking.

Bump in mattress, tired bathroom, well maintained & good size bedroom area. Shower doesnt maintain a constant temperature, varying between warm cold & too hot randomly during a shower. Empty shower gel container upon arrival Pool tables & darts available but cramped area meaning many locatiobs impeded the cues by walls. Pool area wasnt that large & water murky. Good evening meal. A great breakfast selwction including many types of milk.

Room was satisfactory but a little over furnished. Shower control defective, no maintenance staff available over weekend to rectify it, although we were offered an alternative room. The dinner service in the restaurant was a complete and utter shambles. 45 minutes wait for a table due to "An unexpected rush", poor and disorganised service and when the waitress brought the wrong order and had it pointed out to her, she had the temerity to argue. At breakfast, which had to be ordered at reception the night before, so an unexpected rush could not happen, they ran short of cups, glasses and spoons. Tables, cruets and menus were all sticky. Confused, disorganised, poorly trained and short staffed, it is difficult for for a moderate man using temperate language adequately to criticise them.
