The rooms are tired but clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style with lots of choice. There's a car park at the back of the hotel. It's in a good location, very close to the pier and close to the centre.

The hotel looks like it is about to fall down from the outside. The lift is approx 2ft x 3ft which should be highlighted during booking as a wheelchair only will fit inside. People had prams, pushchairs, walk frames and big suitcases finding the whole thing frustrating. During my stay food ran out of stock. We had an infestation of ants in our room which we just bought some powder from the pound shop. The evening meal which we opted for just one evening was not good value. The staff were amusing. They have be en informed of redundancy and those that are staying till the end have mucked in and have 2 or 3 different positions within the hotel. The entertainment is Tue, Thurs and Sat. This ballroom is fantastic. The singers are really good. You could and should Dance like no ones watching but hardly any one did. The hotel has a great location on the front across the road from the pier which has live music and just beside the paved zone leading up to the town centre. As the hotel will be closing before Christmas they're not going to top up the toiletries

Only one lift working and it broke down we had to walk up to the 4th floor not good for two people in their late 70's, food was good ,staff pleasant, could be good if they ever get both lifts working ,could do with a good refurbishment, but we enjoyed Eastbourne, so many places to choose to eat in

The staff were good and dealt with faults quickly that were in the room, but could not work the tv at all. Just could do with simple things like a fridge in the room more pillows would have been nice as well. Very hot rooms so they do need air on as well

App somehow refreshed and changed the dates on my stay from next week to same day Tried for several hours to contact the hotel to change the dates, no answer from reception between 1600 - 1830 Contacted the third-party this was booked through, they couldn't change the dates without getting in touch with reception and they couldn't get through either neither could the hoetls reservations team who were as helpful as they could be. Email was drafted to the reservations manager according to the third party and the reservations team but I am still without an update The hotel replied via message on hotels.com explaining to me that id rang at "Peak check in times" and that they only have one receptionist whom must prioritise check-ins.

The Burlington is a fascinating historic building in a beautiful seafront location, and I appreciate the effort involved in maintaining a property of this age. Unfortunately, it appears to be in need of significant refurbishment. The worn, stained carpets made the room feel less clean than it likely was, and there were other signs of deferred maintenance such as peeling paint. We had read previous reviews mentioning bed bugs, so we chose to leave our luggage in the car as a precaution, although we did not experience any issues ourselves. With continued investment and maintenance, I think this hotel could be a wonderful place to stay, and I would certainly consider returning in the future. ⸻

The hotel reception staff was not helpful and when I reported the tv wasn't working they told me they couldn't help me they had no one there to fix it. The hotel was a bit run down and the lift was not working. The good things was the food and location but I would not stay there again dew to the staff and condition of the hotel.

Room was large, lots of space but bathroom and in particular the shower was terribly small. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Carpet in room needs to be replaced. Overall decor of the hotel is dated and showing age. A good deep clean and lick of paint would significantly help.

Have stayed at the hotel the last 4 years and have noticed a vast difference. Although room service is advertised, which you need to let reception know about beforehand, the housekeeper said that they would only supply what we needed eg. change towels, give sheets, tea, coffee , empty bins etc. The rooms are not cleaned daily as they used to or beds made up Also, me and my husband have always booked the Superior Double Room with 1 King size bed with seaview. We were not given this. I did question this with the staff at reception and was told that the room we were given was. We were only staying just a few nights so we didn't pursue this any further. We will probably source another hotel to stay at in Eastbourne in the future 😞

Hotel ok. Quite run down exterior. We were there for 2 nights friendly enough staff, but our room was not made up on the second day and the bathroom was very narrow and difficult to use Parking was ok at £6 per night, but not secure ie gated.

The hotel is extremely run down and very, very shabby. Nothing at all like the photos online. There is one very small lift working (fit for 2 small people). Rooms are only cleaned if you request it-although we were not advised on check in. So nothing is replenished or bins not emptied for the duration. Our bathroom sink was blocked, there was no soap in the dispenser, paint is peeling everywhere, dirty carpets. I literally could go on. Such a shame as all the staff we met were lovely and really helpful.
