No lift given a room on upper level as we had large suitcases we changed to ground floor but when we got into room it was chilly tried to put heating on would not work it was cold so went to reception and they put a heater in but only took the chill off a bit .
Food was great in restaurant but didn't realise there was a service charge for the restaurant .
The pods to the airport were amazing well impressed

This is a basic hotel but great for flights out of T5 because the airport pod takes you right to it. The rooms are really basic and a bit rundown but there's a new sportsbar here that's good.

Excellent stay before catching an early flight next morning. Check in staff were lovely, had a trainee check us in and she was a credit to the hotel. Swift service but still very friendly and helpful. Sorted a taxi for the next morning for us too. Highly recommend

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars as when I asked for maintenance I was promised that someone would come. Never did! When I tried to follow this up with reception my call was ignored repeatedly! After the 3rd time I gave up! Disappointing

A very clean and friendly hotel to stay in. You wouldn't even know that you are so close to the planes coming in. You could see them land from a balcony from the bar.
The bed is very comfortable. The ride in the pod make this stay more fun.

There’s only one door to get through to get to the pods and the code for that is #4545#
Even if they change the code there’s no need to pay “per person” just pay for one person and sneak everyone else through, or go through the gate when someone else is, no one will stop you.
Also there isn’t a lift at the hotel so ask for a room on the ground floor.

Stayed here overnight for an early flight. The room was clean and comfortable and was exactly what we expected. There is no drinking water provided in the rooms and the price at their kiosk is a bit extortionate but otherwise the hotel is as you’d expect for an airport hotel.

Stopover pre trip to Rome. We received a warm welcome, the room was well equipped and comfortable.
Restaurant and bar were both very good and reasonably priced.
The piece de la resistance was the pods to T5, fast efficient and much cheaper than a taxi. I can’t believe they are not mentioned in the hotel description.

The hotel was convenient with a bus stop (even with luggage) outside linking T5.
However the entrance was unsigned and difficult to locate from the roadway and a fair distance away to push suitcases.
The restaurant is on first floor without lift access; it was uninspiring being long and narrow so fellow guests and staff constantly passing close to our table.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Thistle and by far the best. We stayed in room 672 which is a suite and was huge, with 2 separate rooms and decent bathrooms. We ate in the bar but didn't go for the breakfast. And of course, the viewing area for the airport was fully open allowing us to spot planes, which is why we visited the hotel
