Hotel Cornelisz

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is in a central, safe location, walkable to most attractions in the city or easy access to public transportation. The front desk was always staffed. The location was the highlight. Otherwise the room was very small and exceptionally warm despite not having the heat on. No AC but they did provide a small floor desk fan. We did not pay for the breakfast. Overall would recommend for a great location to explore the city!

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Cornelisz. It is located in a very accessible but not too crowded or noisy area, and the tram stops are only a few minutes walk and the airport shuttle 397 stop is close as well which is super convenient. The hotel staff are very friendly, especially the breakfast bar crew. I highly recommend getting breakfast included with your stay. The rooms are a tad small but that is to be expected with these older buildings. Most importantly for me, there were no bed bugs during my 8 days stay here. This was a big concern of mine and the hotel staff let me know that all affected rooms were closed off, with full furnishing and flooring replacements taking place, and they’re taking all the preventive measures. I would stay at Hotel Cornelisz again on my next trip back to Amsterdam.

Perfect location, we easily walked to many restaurants, museums and parks. Street cars stop nearby and central station is a short ride or 20 minute walk. Hotel is simple but comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast.

Loved the hotel's outdoor terrace—it was such a nice touch. The room was spacious with large windows and plenty of natural light, and the beds were very comfortable. The blackout screens made a big difference, and the lounge area was cozy and relaxing

Really happy with my room and stay, the location is excellent and met my needs for cycling and sightseeing. All the staff were super friendly, I would return.

I had a reservation for three nights. I arrived around 4pm and my room wasn't ready, even though the check in time was 3pm. They gave me a complimentary bottle of water for my trouble. When my room was ready, I went up there to drop off my bags. I was in the room for a total of twenty minutes before I went downstairs to tell the front desk representative that I couldn't stay there. The room was VERY dirty. I can tolerate a lot; I've stayed in a lot of questionable hotels all over the world, but this was possibly the worst. There was a long, crusty stain on the wall from the ceiling to the bed. The bed was made, but once I pulled the comforter off, there was an array of hairs and stains. The floor was dirty. The corners of the room had piles of dust and grime. The closet was stained, dirty, and not actually big enough to hang anything in. The bathroom light did not work... it was pretty awful. After standing in the room debating what to do (because I wouldn't sit down), I determined that I couldn't stay here. I couldn't risk getting sick or bedbugs or fleas....I am way too busy for that. I walked downstairs, told them I couldn't stay there due to how dirty the room was. I asked for a partial refund, I acknowledged that I had reserved the room, but now they could rent it out for the other nights. They refused. They also did not refund me the city taxes that I paid right before I went up to the room.

You can walk to just about anything from there. It’s great and away from the fray of crazy Amsterdam.

Wish we checked google reviews before visiting. We weren’t aware there was a bed bug problem a few months ago. While we didn’t see any bugs on our bed we did notice what looked to be a bed bug in the room. We made sure to wash all our clothes and put everything in bags to be safe. We also found an old piece of gum attached to the blankets and when we requested a new one we were originally told they didn’t have other blankets, and that we’d need to wait until the next day (fortunately they were able to get a new blanket before then). Great location and the place has potential, but was a disappointing visit overall.

Building works literally outside my window at 7am. Builder literally at the window, staring and waving. Constant banging. Awful stay.

Rundown but enjoyable. The location is superb for seeing the museums and I felt very safe.

Room was small but clean, staff were very friendly. Those earn the two stars. Hotel did not mention the renovations/repair work prior to booking and info is not on their website. First notice is beside the elevator; crews work early and are noisy and are facing directly into the room. Needs to be a warning prior to taking people’s money.

The staff were the absolute best! Sweet, friendly and communicative! Highly recommend this hotel - perfect location, clean rooms!

The location was fantastic breakfast was excellent. Staff were all friendly public chill out space very nnice.too.Our superior room was abit tired and cold.

The room was small but cozy and the hotel is incredibly well located.
