Hostal Levante

This ultra budget hotel is located just a four minute walk from La Ramblas in the historic Gothic Quarter! My single room was very small but very clean with a quality safe, A/C, a nice little bathroom and a window with sad views into a tiny, unattractive six story inner court. Very secure, I think this 48 room business was just a part of an old time apartment complex and the 24 hour reception is on the second floor. The door to the street was always locked as was a door at the end of my hall and the door to my room. For me a great inconvenience was always having to leave my key at the front desk every time I went out, and then having to be buzzed in and reclaim my key to return to the room. Although people of all ages seemed to stay there the place really seems more like a Hostal. The friendly staff all seemed to speak English and my room was promptly made up daily with fresh towels. Really the location is excellent and the prices very good for Barcelona. Expect nothing at all fancy and be prepared for clean, very basic, budget accomodation and you will not be disappointed!

Great central location, close to everything. The room was small and a bit cold, and cleanliness could be better—but for the price, it’s an ok place to stay if you’re just looking for a simple base in the city.

We enjoyed our stay at Hostal Levante. The hotel was well situated: close to all the shops and restaurants around the Las Ramblas area, near to the marina and beach, within walking distance of Montjuic area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Negatives: on a noisy side street at night, lift was very small - can only fit 2 people plus luggage.

Shower was full of hair, only one socket in double bedroom. Could hear everything from outside and inside the rest of the hostal.

Modest accommodation, but did have all necessities and this was accompanied by very friendly and helpful staff. The room would benefit from minimal decorations, posters even?

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Place was clean. Great area for exploring. Lots in walking distance and easy access to public transportation. Only negative was noise. Can hear everything through the walls ex. Other guests snoring. Luckily not on a noisy street.

Stayed for 2 night here. Staff was ok, rooms tiny, but I travelled myself, so it was enough. Good location. Could smell someone smoking. Smell of sewerage from the bathroom all the time. Lift only to the reception, if you live on a level above, you need to carry luggage by stairs. Probably woud pay 20-30 €/night more to be more comfy.

Walkable distance to lots of attraction. The staffs are good. Housekeeping is good, very clean.

Although I ended up doing short trips in between, the owner and staff are wonderful! The room was so clean and private bathroom. I’ll definitely stay here again. It’s in a convenient location to everything and so safe and quiet!

It was extremely clean and the staff was so nice. The room was dark (just an airshaft view) and the noise from people in the lobby was audible in my room.

The elevator didn't go to our floor, but they kindly switched us the next night to a floor with elevator access. The room had a balcony and was spacious. Nice location in the Gothic Quarter.

This is a no frills basic place to stay in the heart of Barcelona. Simple yet clean. We found the Hostel quite easily yet how to enter was confusing for us. We walked by the entrance several times thinking it was an apartment building. Once we buzzed the door, it unlocked and we walked up the steps to reception. There is also a small elevator you can use. The attendants were very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for a clean bed to sleep in and a clean restroom with a shower at a low cost in downtown Barcelona then this is the place for you.
