We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel in its perfect location. The staff were so helpful and breakfast was very good. The only downside is the noise at night coming from local bars but that is the price you pay for a city centre location and absolutely no fault of the hotel.

good location in the old city, so close to Grossmunster, Kunsthaus Musuem and many restaurants and shops. The main train station is a few minutes' walk away. The room we had was a bit cramped but we had a lot of luggage. Also, as an older hotel, have to expect some limits on space. The front door of the hotel is up a narrow street which taxis or Uber may not be able to access easily, so we had to move our bags up a cobblestone street. On checkout, a very helpful hotel staff member helped to move our bags to the pick-up point on the main street, which we appreciated very much. The area can be busy but it's not very noisy in the room.

The review doesn’t reflect the property itself. There was very loud construction going on right outside our window starting at 7:00 AM. They should not be selling that room while the construction is going on.

Hotel Alder was amazing. The little details - like free water and sodas in the lobby, candies for the kids, restaurant on site, coffee maker in the room. Wonderful staff. Everything was easy and well thought of. Nice room for our family of 4 staying over for a few days before we went south.

We stayed here for a long weekend retreat and it was exactly what we expected. The hotel is in the heart of Old Town/Alstad and close to restaurants and shops. It was also a walkable distance to the lake and the main train station.

This was my third visit to the charming Hotel Adler Zürich. I love the convenience of being in the middle of the Old Town and very close to tram routes. Excellent buffet breakfast in attractive dining room.
It is probably worth mentioning that major services replacement work is being carried out in the square outside the Hotel and work starts very early on work days--but the weekend was very quiet. Fortunately the excellent double glazing really helped to reduce the building noise considerably ! The work seemed to be progressing quickly and should be completed soon in the immediate area.
I loved my return visit to Hotel Adler Zürich and look forward to my next visit in the near future.
