Cardiff Marriott Hotel

Upgraded to an Executive Room but nothing in the Executive Lounge @ 1:00 - no soft drinks, water, coffee or snacks, told it didn't start until 3 pm (on check-in) Whole idea was to have somewhere to relax after a 1.5 hour drive. Note alcohol was not available until 5pm. - licensing?? Has requested a walk-in shower as my wife has mobility issues - completley ignored. Still don't know why. Maintenance on lifts all weekend, almost impossible to get down from upper floors on Monday morning. Had to use the stairs in the end. All in all, not a brilliant experience.

Room was lovely and clean. Wonderful air conditioning that was really appreciated in this current heatwave! Staff were very friendly and accommodating from check in to breakfast to checking out Enquired about leaving our luggage at the hotel before check in, as we arrived in Cardiff at around 11.15am and was really surprised that we were allowed to check in and a room was ready for us. This made such a difference to our stay. We were able to freshen up before going out to explore Cardiff. The breakfast was delicious and such a great choice. We checked out after breakfast and left our luggage with reception who locked it away for us. More exploring of Cardiff and then back to the Marriott for lunch in Brown's restaurant before getting the train home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel

Great location, staff were very helpful. We had an issue with the air conditioning when we arrived but the problem was dealt with quickly and we were relocated to another room, no fuss no issues.

Room for 3 adults, but only 2 bath towels, and 2 cups to make coffee or tea. Requested some and was quickly sorted .

While conveniently located in the heart of Cardiff, the hotel is beginning to show some wear and tear. Air conditioning was barely working upon arrival but the staff responded quickly and efficiently GRI it’s repair.

For the price tag (generally expensive for the city) the room was a bit … bland. Overall the experience at the Raddison Blu across the road used to better until it stopped being bookable as a Raddison. Generally underwhelming room. Reception area and restaurant very well presented. Only booked as a last minute thing on a busy weekend in the city so with surge pricing exceptionally expensive.

Fantastic stay and location! Breakfast was lush, bed was comfortable and staff were amazing.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely but a bit cold. Air conditioning in our room was lousy, not cold enough and air flow was ineffective, room was way too hot to sleep in. Location was great for city centre

The reception staff were wonderful. Drink provisions in the room were basic at best, when the room rate has been hiked through the roof for a busy weekend I was not impressed. Charged £2.50 from the bar for a splash of fresh milk which should have been available and free. Had the rate been reasonable I’d have been very happy. The fact is I paid a ridiculous room rate and feel cheated.

Check in was very slow, we were kept waiting a long time, there was not enough staff on reception. Lovely room. We didnt have breakfast or food there, drinks in bar were expensive.

Had a great experience at Cardiff marriot hotel, great room, comfy bed, friendly staff who liked a chat about anything, good food and great hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was happy to help us, no matter the issue. Main one was key card, but fixed straight away, no questions asked

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, the location was good, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The only downside was that, although the hotel advertises air conditioning, we found it wasn’t very effective and the room remained quite warm. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

The hotel has a fab location right in the centre close to restaurants, bars and the Principality Stadium. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet without noise from the nearby bars although we did stay on a Sunday night so most places closed relatively early. The public areas of the hotel were nicely kept but the room itself was a bit 'tired' looking particularly in the bathroom. The room had an 'accessible' bathroom although the shower was over the bath so you would need to be able to step into the bath which I'm not sure makes sense for someone who would need the accessible features. The sink was tiny, like one you would find in a small cloakroom and some tiles had been replaced in a couple of places but didn't match the colour/pattern of the rest of the bathroom. The shower was underpowered and kept flicking from hot to cold water and the air conditioning, although set to 18 degrees did not cool the room. The main issue for me was the cost, we paid £250 for a room without breakfast and it was definitely not worth it. I expected better from the Marriott name but I'd probably rather have stayed in the Premier Inn round the corner.

Excellent stay again at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff. Central location with good car parking.

The hotel is right in the centre of Cardiff with a really nice bar area where you can sit outside in good weather. It has a nice atmosphere and Brown's restaurant serves very good food for dinner and breakfast. The room was not small, clean and the staff were friendly. The car park is very handy being attached to the hotel. I would deffinately recommend this hotel.

Great service and location

The room needed improvement : Badly cracked sink , the shower screen did not fit properly, resulting in large puddles of water on the floor after use . A kettle, tea and coffee were provided but no milk or creamer. Some reception staff were very helpful, others frankly did not seem to have a clue. In particular, the parking payment system was not explained to me on arrival. I was standing at the machine in the carpark, but it did not say anywhere that if resident you paid at reception. The cost of parking is extortionate : £18 per 24 hrs. WIFI is only free if you sign up to become a member of Marriott Bonvoy, otherwise £3.50 per 24 hrs. The bottom sheet did not go all the way to the foot of the bed which made me wonder about hygiene standards, even though there was another sheet under it. Breakfast very good. Restaurant staff very helpful. Poor value for money in view of the above.

The phones in the rooms didn't work so not helpful speaking to each other room to room. Dining in hotel good though and central location
