Excellent stay , good value for money, all staff were professional while remaining friendly and approachable (which in hospitality) can sometimes be a challenge. Location was great for Cardiff Pride , the parking was a bit unclear but I was happy to leave my veichle in John Lewis . I will certainly be booking again . Thank you all for a great weekend.

I stayed at the Marriott Cardiff for 1 night. The main reasons for choosing this hotel were location close to city centre and car parking. It turned out to be an excellent choice and I will stay there again when I next visit Cardiff. I did not use the restaurant but it looked great.

Central location, great for the Arena and shopping. Great underground parking cheaper than most local options. Checking very slow but staff seemed helpful. Nice onsite restaurant. Spacious rooms, beds maybe too firm for some.

The inside of the hotel looks dated and tired and is certainly in need of an uplift. The room I was assigned had air-conditioning that did not worked. When I asked, the counter staff stated that the entire hotel was facing this issue and hence could not cater to a room change. I was given an extra fan (which did not work, and I had to ask for a change), but even having two fans in the room at night still constituted a sauna and sleepless nights. And these two days also overlapped with a heatwave. A very belated internet checks showed reviews dating back years that the hotel has (and remains yet unfixed) AC problems. Also, after I got some laundry done, I was requested to pick up the clean laundry from the front counter myself, no reason was given. Throughout my travels, I have never had to self-pickup clean laundry, it is sad to note that even 3-star hotels in less established countries have done better than the Cardiff Marriott in this regard. The Marriott brand has always been trusted, and I had booked this stay without the slightest hesitation with no additional homework done. Instead of the satisfactory experience I had expected, I was disappointed that the condition of the property and the unresolved issues encountered during my stay did not reflect the standards I normally associate with the Marriott brand.

Great location and the staff were super helpful (Richard) they have a car park that was gated and secure, watch out for the seagulls on the top floor of the car park as they are nesting there. Breakfast was excellent and a great selection. The bar service was excellent too!

No air conditioning in the rooms or at all at the hotel. The fan that they put in the rooms wasn’t powerful enough to circulate the air around the room, window only opened a fraction of it which meant even at night the room was humid and hot. They had extra water but there was no offer of discount or compromise. The fact that there was no pre-warning that there was no air-conditioning and it’s not like we had a choice to go to another hotel in such short notice as such information was only provided when we were checking in. Very disappointing but breakfast in the morning was good.

Overall, the location is good. However, getting to the hotel is a challenge for drivers. Due to a GPS error, I took an extra turn and was caught by a camera, resulting in a fine. Later, I spotted the brown "Marriott Hotel" signs on the road, directing me to the hotel. When driving, you don't have time to properly check your surroundings. Be extremely careful when driving! Definitely the best breakfast. Moreover, I had free parking at the hotel. It was extremely hot outside during my trip. The room's built-in air conditioning, despite being set to the lowest possible setting (+18°C), was blowing hot air. Opening the window slightly didn't help, and it was impossible to sleep.

The air conditioning was broken throughout the hotel. And it was the hottest day on record for the uk in May at 35 oc. At first thought it was a joke when I check-in. The hotel window opened 6 inches and the large window made it like a greenhouse. I slept (badly) with a wet towel over the top of me. It was so hot I could barely breathe.

Unfortunately we arrived on an extremely hot today to be told the air conditioning was not working and there was a fan in our room. The a/c was expected to be fixed the following day but this did not happen and it was out for the 3 nights we were there. The room was really warm and it made for very uncomfortable sleeping. The hotel offered free parking to compensate but this did not feel proportionate given the impact on the experience. The location was great for the variety of restaurants and shops.

Unfortunately on arrival we were informed that they had no aircon in the hotel and had been experiencing problems the last couple of days and that there were fans in the room. Bearing in mind it was the hottest week of the year and they didn’t contact us before hand to inform us to give us the option of cancelling, we was disappointed with this and obvs didn’t sleep much at all as the fan was pretty useful. However although there was no offer of a refund or compensation they did allow us to park in their car park for free and leave extra water in the room. We have stayed at this hotel before and we have enjoyed our stay and it’s a good location, just disappointed not to be contacted before we arrived as we would have changed hotels due to the temperature as we had already struggled at home all week to sleep with the heat.

So wasn’t told until I checked in and paid in full that the air conditioning was broken, so I spent 2 nights trying to sleep in a furnace as the fan that was provided was useless, the fridge in the room was also broken so the water they put in there was also warm, an awful experience as I was told it had been down since Friday of last week and the hotel made ZERO effort to let guests know as there wouldn’t have been a hope in hell of me staying there if I had known. This hotel clearly only cares about their bottom line as oddly the AC was working fine in the gym and restaurant but not the rooms. Awful experience, one I won’t be repeating

Staff were friendly and main area is maintained. I was put in a room with a new mattress they were trialling and had to ask to move rooms as it was like laying on a wooden board. Staff moved me straight away with no issues, although the old mattresses in the new room wasn't much better. Room was clean enough and ok for a 1 night stay. Main issue was the loud music keeping me awake till 3am, the windows did nothing to keep the noise out and sounded like I was in the club myself. It was a Mon/Tues night stay so I did not expect the noise. Wouldn't recommend or stay here again.
