Cons: PARKING is far away, in Scotia Square. You have to walk a long way with your luggage, but at least we were able to walk through buildings and follow signs. It was a bit tricky. Also the antennae of our truck (Tacoma) was scraping on some parts of the parking garage. 😳 I don't know where normal trucks would park. OUTDATED. The heat in the room was not updated. I was a little confused as to how it worked. There was a nob that read, off low med high. That turned on a fan/vent. There was a thermostat beside that where I could turn the dial to 70, but I wasn't sure if that actually did anything or if you needed the fan on to get any heat. I did not want the fan on all the time because it was a little loud. CARPET. The carpet in the room didn't look pleasant, old stains. POOL. The pool was in the 2nd floor. It was relatively small and too cold for me. I was sad I couldn't go in with my son. TV. The TV guide didn't seem accurate. Everything I chose to put on was not what actually came on. ROOM CARDS: We back went down 3 times because the cards wouldnt work. We didn't know to not put them with your phone! Your phone will wipe the card. Terribly weak coffee in our room. Pros FRIENDLY STAFF, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE. My son had fun in the pool.

The property desperately needs a makeover. I was in a room where there was some rust and signs of wear. Wood furniture is showing wear. The washroom had laminate pulling off. I also mentioned to staff about strange noise in the room, high pitched ping, as well as TV channels not loading like CBC. Nothing was done prior to my departure. I would not recommend or encourage to go back. The restaurant though was great. Several guests have raised issues with rooms and hotel.

If you’re looking for a place to sleep, and only sleep, then it’s a good hotel. The TV was limited to channels and they don’t have a Cast like account for us to log into our own accounts to watch movies. The style is very dated (it gives 1980’s scary movie vibes). But it’s fairly clean. The coffee machine spit coffee everywhere (highly recommend bringing your own instant and asking for a kettle for hot water). Bring your own cream, gel soap and shampoo. I always bring my own but our room didn’t have any of it.

I read a review that suggested the rooms were 'dated', and that matches our experience. Closet doors were removed, the bolts for shower cutain rod were falling out, the sofa-bed mattress was well used. Worse however, it seems like the staff are used to that standard. It took three calls to get a complete set of bedding for the sofa bed, and when we finally got sheets, they were damp. Other complications were met with a shrug and 'oh that's too bad'.
