Nothing worked except the team who did their best . The room had no heating and no phone . The public area ( all day dining, bar and reception ) had no WiFi so even getting and tracking an uber was a mission . I was given a different room that was in desperate need of maintenance. Very sad as the building is lovely and the location great . I was told all the phones were removed from the rooms as part of ongoing renovation . Pretty sure this violates health and safety. Would like a refund

Nice room and location

Heating was not working. Phone was bot working to inform reception heater was broken. Hairdryer was broken. Fridge was broken. Informed reception and told we could have half money back if informed Hotel. Com.

We had issues with the room we were allocated; the heating, lights and safe were all defective…the staff were excellent in giving us a different room and moving us in while we were out.

Great room and great staff. Plus very close to everything. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Great stay, very nice hotel in a great location. Unfortunately we did have a couple of false fire alarms that woke us up but appreciate this is beyond the staffs control and they have to ensure safety. The hotel does show some wear and tear in places but overall a great stay and would stay again

The room was very neglected, tiles near the sink in bathroom were no longer fixed down. The water had already been drank from the bottles provided and the room itself was dirty.

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel numerous times. The hotel is lovely. Rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfortable. The staff are very polite and helpful. The hotel is located central to all parts of the city. We can't wait to revisit in the near future. We

Check in was delayed 20 minutes due to the system being down. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Location is ideal for being close to town parking is non existant the deal they have with the NCP car park was next to useless and tget failed to mention the club right next to it and blaring music out till 2am

Staff and amenities excellent. Near town centre and nightlife .

Lovely all building with many original features and well designed modern touches. The single beds were 3'6 wide, nice touch

Lovely Staff, Fantastic building, a great breakfast where you can see your food being freshly prepared. One small nag... thought the room was a little cold... even after turning up the heat. Staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Great location

The staff were very helpful, the room was a good size but with some cosmetic TLC required. Breakfast was lovely, something to suit everyone but definitely more choice and better presentation on our second morning 31/12. Discounted car parking could be better explained before arrival.

The rooms are not really very sound proof. Other guests were very loud, shouting and screaming and it woke me up on a few occasions - I appreciate this isn’t the hotels fault, although the rooms let in a lot more noise than I would have expected. The breakfast wasn’t great, hash browns tastes like they’d been cooked the previous night and just left in a heated pan. It didn’t taste fresh sadly. The hotel itself is lovely, very picturesque but I likely wouldn’t rebook sadly.

What a shame. I reviewed this place with fantastic reviews not that long ago but genuinely a 2/3 star hotel at best. I’ll explain why. Could have got multiple hotels of 4* rating at similar or slightly lower price easily for our Friday night but stuck with this hotel for the pool table as we love pool and amazing breakfast plus a beautiful room we experienced last time. However this is what we experienced this time. Got there 40-45 minutes early and normally you’d get your room but told could only have room if we paid a charge so decided to have a drink instead at the bar for the same price of getting room early. Went to play pool but the cues were completely broken. Asked if any other cues but none. Then at 3pm went to check in to find the kitchen wasn’t working so only a light continental breakfast was included although I’d paid extra for breakfast a month ago. When I asked more I was told it hadn’t been serving breakfast for at least 2 months. I asked why I hadn’t been informed n she shrugged. I never had any confirmation so was upset. I was told I’d get the money back for the breakfast if I complained. Then got to our room. It was awful. Peeling paint, wobbly floor tiles, horrendous view. Honestly I wish I’d just gone to premier inn round the corner. I waited to do this review as I complained at reception- which I’ve never done before n was told the manager would look at my complaint and would be in touch but nothing back.
