Ah l remember this hotel in 2006, my first visit, it was truly amazing but now it is very tired and it needs such a big makeover. Why the colour grey, the older colour made the he hotel look vintage. The other issue is that guests sit anywhere they like, drink outside, have takeaway and smoke outside. White so much space the hotel has, why not make dedicated spaces? Why not make a stying area at the back to avoid guests congregating in the front which can be intimidating as some guests are quite loud and drinking just adds to the issue. Thank you.

Staff as always were brilliant. The room was unfortunately the worst I've stayed in whilst at the norbreck small, and noisy from the backs beer barrels or something being moved around late on, and visable pipe work on the side of my sons bed which looked a bit dangerousif hed got out that side in the middles of the night. But the worst thing about the stay is that the hotel had been taken over by a dance competition. The competitors were sprawled all over the place in the communal areas, up stair ways . And the mess they made was shocking. I felt so sorry for the staff. Litter everywhere and they all ran round like they owned the place. Didn't seem like any parent or dance instructor was insight to keep them in order. We therefore only stayed in the bar for one drink before heading upstairs. Went to bed only to be woken at 2am by kids giggling and running around. Anyway I'll be checking for events before I book again. Also the description of the room on Expedia was not accurate, certainly not 190plus square feet and no air-conditioning.

The price was good as was the location however the breakfast @ the privce of £12.50 per head was deplorable I mention to a staff member that the rececrispies wer stale and tasted fusty to which he replied 'O' and walked away if you can not afford to deliver good service and food that the price you ask for put the price up and deliver better servie and food

the whole hotel was poorly run , the building itself is very poorly maintained and in desperate need of a complete refurbishment , the one and only lift is so slow it was quicker to walk from fith floor to the ground floor . the one good thing was the help yourself all you can eat breakfast , the lady who checked me in was very good and i was checked in within minutes . overall a very disapointing stay and will not use again

Please do not book here it’s absolutely abhorrent, absolutely filthy. Please save your money. The only thing that holds this hotel together is the staff who can’t do enough for you however everything else is just disgusting. I have never in my life stayed in such a filthy dirty hotel, the hotel should be completely ashamed.

The customer service was very poor. Staff kept blaming each other instead of resolving issues. I requested extra pillows several times, and each time I was told that someone would bring them, but after three days, no one ever did. When I complained again, I was told it wasn't their fault. The receptionist simply smiled and apologised, but nothing was done to fix the problem. There was also no washing-up liquid provided in the room. We had booked two rooms, and unfortunately, both had a disappointing experience. Overall, the customer service was unacceptable, and I would not recommend staying here based on our experience.

The Castle is a little worn around the edges and could do with a refurbishment inside and out - paint, wall coverings, carpets, furniture could all stand a refresh (but this is reflected in the price) Pool was nice but note there is a charge to swim or use the gym, plus a charge for towels We enjoyed the “Full English” breakfast included with our stay, as well as a 3 course dinner during our stay

The staff were rude and didn’t want to help us, the room had cracks in it and we asked for a fridge and we never got one. They said that they would provide one. This is outrageous service and my stay was unpleasant due to that we were in a group and we requested our rooms next to each other, somehow they screwed that up. Wouldn’t book again, outrageous.

Overall the hotel was very dirty... the room smelled doors,walls,beds were dirty, very dusty behind the beds has never been cleaned. It smelled very old i had to buy a spray and a paper towell and clean it all myself stayed over night and left the other day even though i had a reservation for 2 nights i left next morning.
