The new manager was very welcoming to my son and me. Showed us around the hotel including the gym. The morning manager was super friendly and took time to conect with my son with special needs, ensuring his breakfast was right. The twin room was spacious and a great, powerful shower. The room was warm too. We will be back. Easy reach of Leicester TeamSport go karting.

Check in was a joke . Rang bell 3 times before anyone came to reception. When they did arrive tried to charge me again when I had already paid. My message said breakfast ( continental was included) . Got up next day and female staff member said it wasn’t so we went elsewhere for breakfast. ON return I showed them message from hotel to say it stated breakfast was included. They did give us it the day we were leaving. They didn’t offer to reimburse for breakfast as their mistake I asked for two wine glasses for our room as bar was dark and dingy . The lady carried on talking to someone setting up a stall and left me standing waiting for a good 5 minutes . The hotel is run down which is such a shame as in a beautiful village in a lovely location . Bus stop outside to go to Leicester or Loughborough. Would I stay again ? Not unless it had a complete renovation and they got new staff as service extremely poor and rude .

Unfortunately this hotel feels like is been abandoned. To be fair the room was clean and quiet but had no hot water. The rest of the hotel felt like something out of an apocalypse movie. Went to speak to reception about the water and was greeted with a note saying call this number in an emergency. After ringing the bell and waiting I called the number, left a message and was never called back. Breakfast was swimming in grease. The whole hotel needs some investment.

Reserved a twin room. The first room that we were assigned had not been cleaned and there was water all over the bathroom floor from where someone had a shower. Given another room. Thought it had been cleaned but upon turning covers back at night found the bed with sheets all messed from someone else sleeping in it and they were dirty. It had not been cleaned. At night no one mans the reception and you have to phone someone to come out. Decided to check out early and ask for a refund. Place very dated. Lights in room not working. Room door handle nearly falling off. Windows glazing blown so full of moisture inside. Part of ceiling missing in hallway outside room. Breakfast advertised as continental but wasn’t. Lack of staff around. Spoke to another guest there and he said he had to be given a different room as his room hadn’t been cleaned either. Do not go to this place at all!

Ample parking. I liked the lawn area which led to the river behind the hotel. I felt the £78.00, including continental breakfast, was very reasonable for a large, double bedded room (303) in early May. There is an automated taxi call system at reception which brought me a taxi in about 15 mins (Sunday morning).

The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. The temperature in the rooms was good, but it should be noted that our stay was in the early spring where neither heating nor air conditioning was needed, but I imagine it would be fairly hot in the summer as the windows in the rooms are quite small. The parking was good and simple, plenty of spaces, easy to find. The check in and check out procedures were easy as well. There were a few disappointing aspects about our stay. The most prominent being the breakfast situation. When we booked, it was inferred that there was a continental breakfast with option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast for a further fee. During our stay, we went down to breakfast at about 7.15, pretty close to the start of the breakfast service. The only options available were stale bread for toasting, tea, coffee, and room temperature yoghurt. When we asked about upgrading to a cooked breakfast, we were told that the kitchen was closed. I would strongly argue that this does not represent a continental breakfast, and we were very disappointed as the hotel was located quite rurally so there were no other options for breakfast and it did impact our plans. Perhaps it should be renamed as 'complimentary breakfast'. The other small matters was that the bathroom in the room had not been restocked of toilet paper or soap in the dispensers. To future visitors: you will have a restful night, but bring your own food and soap.

The bed was so hard, mattress was so thin that it was about as comfortable as sleeping on the floor! The single bed was better. The room was very tired, and the furniture very worn and old. The positive was the price and the included continental breakfast which was self service and had a good selection.
