The Lord Nelson Hotel is an excellent place to stay, it's clean, and a great location (across the street from the Garden's which is beautiful). The hotel is extremely well kept and the staff are all lovely. Highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Suites. Though clearly an older hotel, has been extremely well maintained. Stepping into the lobby with its wood paneling and chandeliers is a bit like traveling back in time to the mid 1900's. It is conveniently located across the street from the Halifax Public Gardens and within walking distance of the Halifax Citadel. There is a surprisingly vast number of nearby restaurants to choose from. There is a parking garage attached to the building though it's a bit of a maze to figure out how to get from the parking garage to the lobby. Also be careful in the garage when opening up the back door of an SUV (especially if it swings above the height of the car). Some of the parking spots have low hanging pipes for the fire sprinkler system which I managed to bang the back door of my car against. Still, we would not hesitate to stay again in the future.

Nice stay at this centrally located hotel. Clean, spacious, and nice amenities. We had the Nespresso coffee every day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only part to be aware of is the elevators are quite old and thus small. Be ready to wait extra few min waiting for it or the next one. We had no problem with it tho.

Absolutely beautiful property. It’s got the old city charm with all the amenities. The city was in spring bloom and the park view suite was a beautiful space. We took advantage of the 20% discount at the recommended spa. The room was bright and charming. The furniture was well maintained and I struggled to get out of the bed with its crisp linens every morning. Well located and lots of underground parking.
