Excellent experience. Beautiful property, clean and well maintained. We paid for parking and walked everywhere. The staff were attentive and helpful.

Really liked their attention to detail. We mentioned it was our anniversary and they surprised us when they left something in the room for us. They also left a card with a wonderful message for us.

The staff was incredibly helpful and the location was great. Walking distance to the waterfront, walking distance to the Citadel, and the Public Garden is right across the street.

Old style elegance with modern updates. Close to the Citadel and Public Gardens. Free breakfast is not part of the stay but there is a restaurant in the hotel and plenty of choices within a short walk.

Staff was incredibly friendly. Rooms were spacious and well maintained. Great location to visit the sites of Halifax. Special shout out to Teresa who was super friendly and kept our room immaculate. Parking was a nightmare as passes routinely did not work but I expect they will fix that issue. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel!

The Lord Nelson Hotel is the best hotel I have stayed in North America. Considering the wonderful facility 4.5 stars and the location, the deal on Expedia I got is really great. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is modern equipped but still keeps the antique original designs. It is a good balance of modern and antique. The location is perfect to tourists. It is close to waterfront and opposite to the Public Gardens. I will defiantly go back there if we visit Halifax again.

This was a great place to stay if you want to feel special. The staff treats you very well, are very polite, and the rooms were very well maintained. Meals from “The Arms” restaurant were excellent and the service was fantastic. The location is also wonderful and central with a grand park outside the front doors, many coffee shops and restaurants close by. The only two issues we had when staying there were: 1) Parking- the additional charge for parking was not pleasant ( $40/day) and half the time the exit gates were not working. 2) The WiFi was poor in the room. This is a big problem when the TV’s are based on streaming apps ( Netflix, Prime, AppleTv, etc.) and always time out while you wait for the Wifi. This made the TV’s in the room almost useless. We were on the 9 th floor, this location might be the issue.

Stayed for two nights in July, overall a pleasant stay with a few things that could be improved. The property itself is gorgeous and has a historic look, I loved the gold old style elevators and wood interior. Our room had a comfortable king bed, and they provided a lot of nice things to the room including Nespresso coffee machine, several bags of tea, water bottles, and a lot of toiletries (soap for face and body, makeup wipes, shampoo, conditioner and body wash). Also the restaurant The Arms on property was fantastic, we had two dinners and one breakfast and everything was delicious! I got the scallops one night and fish n chips the other. Great service too, and they offer room service as well but we didn't use it. The minor improvements were that the elevators looked a little dirty so could use a deep clean. The toilet paper is very thin and we had to call for more to be delivered, but they did so within like 10 minutes which was great. The tub was also very slippery and I slipped and hit my leg pretty hard, luckily I was holding the grab bar. In the room we were facing another building so kept the sheer curtains closed, however the air conditioning blew them apart so we had to keep the full thick curtains closed for privacy which was a shame because that meant we couldnt have natural light.
