Very warm welcome by Sarah on reception, set our stay off to a lovely start. Our room was on the corner of the building, which gave us beautiful sea views & a breeze through the windows which was appreciated in this heatwave. Yes the building is a bit tired with it's decor, but our bathroom was fully modernist, clean & our beds were super comfy. Hotel parking at £6 is a bargain & £10 for a pre booked breakfast was a bargain, we had a wonderful buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. The location is ideal, on the sea front, close to shops, restaurants & a 12 minute easy walk to the theatre. I would happily re visit this hotel, especially due to the lovely staff.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the parking was excellent at the back of the hotel and easy to get to the reception. The room was a good size along with excellent sea views, our only disappointment was when we opened the balcony doors there was cigarette butts and needed a sweep, otherwise we enjoyed our stay

Room okay for price but definitely surface cleaned only and basic maintenance very lacking. Lift was an experience in itself. Good location however

First appearance from outside was off putting, poorly maintained, in fact shabby inside & outside. Quiet night’s sleep considering the hotel was full. Didn’t have a sea view which I was expecting as I paid for a superior room. Staff were polite & helpful.

Housekeeping needs looking at our room 412 down the side of the toilet has not been cleaned for a very long time dust thick on the pipes and disregard used toilet paper. The actual toilet is so close to the wall there is no room to sit on it properly. The sink and mirror are that old they need replacing asap. Breakfast was very good Reception staff were excellent. Busy weekend and only one lift working which is crazy for a busy hotel.

Pretty good stay - well located and old school seaside hotel. Sea view was fantastic but room was very hot and when we requested a fan we were told ‘that we should have one’, but we didn’t, as we said. Overall a good experience

Staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast is really good and the hotel is a firm favourite. Only downside this visit was no check on our room during this stay. I didn’t need towels replacing so hung them up instead of on the floor. But , no replenished clean cups and tea , coffee , milk, toilet paper, bins emptied etc.

We stayed here for our Wedding anniversary weekend. We paid extra for a superior sea facing room. My husband emailed reception before our visit to say it was our 44 wedding anniversary & was our room the best that their was. He was assured that we had the best room with the best views. We did get a sea facing room but.... you could hardly see the sea as the windows were so dirty with seagull poo & just general dirt. The railings outside the window were broken & filled with old cigarette ends & even a stale half of an avocado that was baked & fossilised. The skirting boards were covered in dust & the back of the toilet door was just grim. The paint around the "single" glazed window frames was falling off & the woodwork was rotten The whole of the hotel is very very dated & desperately needs updating & some major renovation work. We did not complain to reception as it seemed to be that everytime we passed by there was always someone complaining about the state of their room & asking to be moved, but because it was fully booked as it was tennis in town they were told they were not able to be moved. Despite the dated hotel the staff were all very polite & we had a fantastic weekend & loved our time in Eastbourne

Very old property with character but in need of care and attention. Kept as clean as possible within the scope of its age. Staff friendly enough. Fabulous location with excellent views of the sea and pier. With rear entrance from the carpark. All good
