We stayed at the Hotel Vic whilst touring The Netherlands. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable and the hotel as a whole was fantastic - smart and well located. We loved the vibrant decor, which made for a fun and vibrant stay. Leiden Centraal Station is just over the road and the city centre is only a few minutes away, but our room was lovely and quiet. There is a branch of Bagels and Beans just a few hundred metres away, which became our daily breakfast spot and which we would recommend also.

Small but very clean room. Across the street from the train station. This hotel has a self serve lobby with check in, snacks and coffee. Our room only had one pillow per bed (2 singles that were really long in length ) I asked for more pillows and they sent them up.

Hotels.com should be ashamed of the picture used for this hotel. This hotel is on a busy road junction close to the station not next to a beautiful waterway. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest canal.
Nothing wrong with hotel/ room/ staff etc if you want to be close to station and don’t mind the loud traffic noise 24 hours a day

Hotel room smells really bad — I have window open all day and it still smells like an uncleaned toilet (mold? Human excrement? Dead mouse? I can’t tell). When I first got in the toilet bowl is covered with feces from the last guest I assumed. I will never go back again. I stay in hotels 100 nights every year, this is the worst I have been in years. Stay away at all cost.

We selected Hotel VIC because of the proximity to Leiden Centraal. We traveled by train 8 of the 11 days we were in the Netherlands, so having the station so close was a big bonus. The room was all that we needed it to be and the bed was wonderful!

Great location for the train station and bus to Keuchenhof. Fun style, clean and safe and despite being outside a traffic junction we weren’t disturbed by any outside noise. We had a small fridge in the room, a decent hairdryer and the mini market downstairs was handy. We had a great stay; it met our needs for exploring Leiden, jumping on the train/ bus to go exploring elsewhere.

TV was damaged but we weren't really using it.
We had a bit of trouble finding the car park as it wasn't sign posted from the main road.

The positives were close to the station and the old town, good beds and breakfast was okay. The negatives were being on a busy junction, building is an old office block and the restaurant in hotel next door is not well run.

The property was in a very good location. The decor seemed a little on the romantic/sexual side of things, but it was very accommodating. The whole building was very clean and the staff was extremely nice. We arrived late and the door was locked and when we buzzed, we had someone come around and get us to get around. The staff was very nice and took us back over to the self check-in kiosks and it went very smoothly after that. We did not have any issues at all the entire stay.
