Cochin International Airport (COK) lies at Nedumbassery, north-east of the city and not far from the town of Aluva. It is widely known as the first airport in the world to run entirely on solar power. The drive into Ernakulam or Fort Kochi follows busy highways, so allow extra time at rush hour.

Cochin International Airport uses separate terminals for domestic and international flights.
