Stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend. The room we were given (305) at check-in was located right next to the lift, and upon inspection we realised it was in terrible condition and filthy. The carpets were so badly stained and looked very dirty, the single chair in the room was marked with stains and very worn, and there was hair between the bedding. We requested another room whereby we were told there was plenty of other availability for the room type we had booked. The balcony that we paid extra for was a waste as it faced the main street in front of the hotel where it was noisy, and also hot while we were there. The air conditioning in the new room did not work initially and when asked, the hotel manager was impatient and rude when telling me that the thermostat basically doesn’t work in the entire place. The bathroom was small but well appointed. Water from the mini bar was not free. For the price we paid, the size and service we received was not worth it. The only thing good was its location between the edge of Surry Hills and the CBD. This boutique hotel was a miss for us.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before and usually had a very good experience. I would like to thank the daytime staff who kindly allowed us to check in early at around 1:00pm, which we really appreciated. We left our luggage in the room and went out shortly after. When we returned to the hotel at around 6:00pm, we noticed that the room (Room 502) was still very warm. The air conditioner was extremely weak and also making noticeable noise, even when set to 17°C. A staff member came to the room and simply turned the air conditioner off and on again, explaining that this room sometimes takes a while to cool down. However, after waiting about 20 minutes, there was still no improvement. At around 6:30pm, when I reported the issue again at the front desk, the response I received was quite surprising. The staff member said he did not know how cold I expected the room to be and told me that the other available rooms would likely be the same. He also suggested that if it was not acceptable, I could cancel the booking and find another hotel. At that time in the evening, this suggestion felt quite unreasonable and made it seem as if the problem was being treated as a guest preference rather than a problem with the room itself. Eventually we were moved to another room (Room 102), and the air conditioner there worked perfectly. The difference was very obvious, which clearly showed that the problem was with the original room. A fabulous friendly hotel in the heart of Sydney. We had a great stay and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Dylan for making us feel so welcome on arrival. Highly recommend.

I stayed in one of the accessible rooms, stay was fantastic. Secure building, I arrived a little bit before 1200, Staff was polite and willing to hold my bag until check in. I was grabbing medication out when Surge asked if I had 5-10 minutes he thinks the room I’ll be in is ready he’ll go check. A few minutes later he came back and offered to check me in right away. Room worked great for me, the bed was amazing, there is only one other hotel bed that ever stood out to me, this is now the second. When I checked out, Surge was again amazing at customer service.

Really great, clean, room and helpful staff - used the lobby to play some games in when it was too hot out and the space was very pleasant to be in. Extremely well located to loads of excellent bars and restaurants.

Extremely helpful staff! Dylan was great at check in, taking our number and texting when our room was ready as we arrived early. Great, clean room. It was perfect for our 2 night stay. Fantastic interior. We really enjoyed the location, Surry Hills was great for food options and a walk around. So close to central station too. We really liked the cold water tap downstairs to be able to fill our bottles up! Would highly recommend.

Beautifully decorated hotel and room, lovely staff. Spotlessly clean and very comfy bed. Our room was on the smaller side but fine for one night.

The staff made my stay - Dillon and Serge were wonderful - they remembered my coffee order each morning, were so welcoming to my dogs and nothing was too much trouble. There is a beautiful courtyard for breakfast that is super dog friendly.
