Maun Lodge

Friendly staff, large breakfast. Rooms are spacious and clean. A good place to stay close to Maun airport before/after a safari with bonus of free airport transportation

The hotel is a bit old, food is average, room basic, but the staff is super nice.

Learned this is largest hotel in Main, nice property. Nice restaurant. Only issue was that the Haake fish dinner took about 1 1/2 hrs to be cooked and served! Even manager came over to apologize.

We came back to this property after a prior visit, because of the great experience due to our first experience. We were again very glad we were there. Great service, kind staff, delicious food and good entertainment. If ever are blessed to return to Maun, we will return to Maun Lodgen

Although definitely not luxurious our room is comfortable, clean and functional. The breakfast was okay and we did have good dinners via room service. Staff have been friendly and efficient.

My experience was good. Needed to press my shirt and staff were waiting for the equipment in order to do their work:( Need to upgrade the basics.

Stayed one night in transit on our way home after a fly in safari in Ogavanga Delta. The hotel is safe but dated including older bathrooms. Nothing special but not sure there’s anything better in Maun

the hotel is overstimated. whereas the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, good food and professional staff.

I stayed at the lodge before and after my safari in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. This is a beautiful lodge with an excellent restaurant. The breakfast buffet spread is tempting, and a must try is their ox tongue (if available). Their dinner buffet is excellent as well. For the meat lover, they serve roasted goat and grilled beef during dinner. Beer selection is adequate. Hotel service is great and responsive. Luggage could be stored at the lodge whilst you are on a safari. Lodge security is excellent. - it is walled-in with electrified cables atop. Rooms are provided with a dead bolt and a safe. There is an elevated viewing deck adjacent to the restaurant that overlooks the Thamalakane River. It is great for a sun-downer. I spent sometime on the deck during my last evening, and at a distance you could view ducks in flight with a setting sun as the background. I took several photos with my long lens. There is a bar on the elevated viewing deck. Unlike a previous review from another guest, I do find the rooms to be quiet for a good nights' sleep. The rooms are about 125 ft. to 150 ft. from the main road. A tour desk is present, though, I did not use that service. Room and shuttle service are excellent. There is not much activity (from a tourist viewpoint) nearby. A short taxi ride would take you to downtown. The return taxi fare was inexpensive - costing me about USD2.50. I am happy with my stay and would return if my travels take me through Maun.

Pick up at airport was late. Not put in the room as booked. Otherwise lodge was fine. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would go back.
