Our stay at the vine was lovely, Pros convenient right in the centre, Loverly friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, tea coffee facilities. Cons, steep narrow stairs upto the top floor, really squeaky floor boards in the room kept waking others up in the room when getting up to use the bathroom in the night. Second time I’ve stayed and would definitely visit again.

The room was a little tired but this was to be expected at Stafford's oldest inn! The food was good, as was breakfast. However, it was the staff who made the stay memorable. Both ladies were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us, even holding our baby for a while when we ate dinner so we could use both our hands! We would happily stay here again.

The hotel is well located, which makes it convenient for getting around the city. However, it seriously lacks cleanliness, which was quite disappointing. There is no elevator, which makes carrying luggage and going up the stairs very tiring. Additionally, it is quite expensive considering the limited amenities it offers, which does not justify the price. The only positive aspect was the staff, who were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

To be fair, this is apparently one of the oldest pubs in the area so it's dated interior kept with the theme. The staff were friendly but you might have to wait for service at the bar or restaurant, or reception. The bar - ran out of draught cider (on an early Friday evening) The restaurant ran out of sirloin on an early yes you guessed it Friday evening. There was a definite whiff of ganja on the 1st floor accomodation hallway. The room was small, hot and the bed had an extremely soft mattress. The shower unit in the bathroom didn't have any complimentary shower gel but did have hand soap for the sink. Also the shower head only offered a Japanese needle shower setting of 5 or 6 jets maybe more either way the accupuncture from them was probably beneficial? Parking was ok but tight. Morning breakfast was served (no self service choice) and the bacon was extra salty. All in all, we'll book elsewhere in future.

Parking on site was marred by the inconsiderate parking of the guests. As the parking seemed not to be monitored, people had parked over 2 spaces and in non marked spaces meaning that some of the limited spaces were unusable. Signage about parking correctly and fining those that do not comply might stop this and make them a lot of money.

Although the room was clean, the bathroom needed attention. Stained toilet and bath. Obviously quite dated. No communication with the staff apart from checking in. We were literally just left to it. No one asked how our stay was on checking out which I found disappointing.

Bathroom had mold on the tiles in the shower. Did not appreciate the door knocking around 8.30 am and the manager stating that the room we were checked into is showing as empty and stating that she would check that we should be in there. Quite bizarre. Disappointing stay
