Rey Apartments

The location is in an ideal spot for walking everywhere in the city. The space itself was very spacious and the sleeping arrangements were comfortable.

It was a studio apartment with one double bed and 2 sofa beds that converted into 2 double beds. All towels and bedding were provided and you set up the sofa beds yourself. The beds and pillows were nice and comfortable. There was a kitchenette equipped with pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. A small table with chairs was also in the apartment. The washroom was on the smaller side with only a shower area. The shower curtain was dirty on the bottom was not very effective in keeping water inside and the water constantly dripped out onto the surrounding floor. The hotel was well situated and walking distance to major attractions in Reykjavik. It was just a few blocks away from restaurants and bakeries. Bonus and Kronan supermarkets were a few minutes walk from the hotel and great places to pick up snacks and groceries. The only con was that the room was not very sound proof. The windows were old with wood trim. They did not shut very tightly and all the traffic and sidewalk noises came through. Our room was also next to the stairs (there are no elevators in the hotel) and we can hear people going up and down the stairs. If you are a light sleeper, this hotel may not be for you.

Beautiful room. We stayed in a 1 bedroom that sleeps 4 with 2 sofa beds. Highly recommend this clean place with great location to near by restaurants and shops. Check in and out is very simple and easy.

The place is located very close to the city center, which makes sightseeing very easy. There's not enough parking space for all visitors, so we had to figure out something in the paid parking zones, of which there are plenty around. The biggest problems were the shower curtains and the shower ventilation. The curtains stink, and the ventilation made a really loud and obnoxious, high-pitched whining noise whenever it was on. The hosts accidentally directed us to the wrong apartment, but luckily they are all nearby, and the hosts are easy to reach by phone.

Most economical apartment we stayed in during our visit to Iceland, but it felt like a luxury apartment. It had everything thing we needed for a comfortable stay. A bonus was the fast wi-fi which allowed my granddaughter to complete her online classes. Wonderful bakery next door!

Nice apartment, good standard. A little bit dark with poor lightning, few windows all with frosted glass. Very central location in the middle of the city. The biggest/only problem was the noise. The noise from the city is to be expected, but the apartment was very poorly soundproofed so the was noise especially from doors closing but also talking , showering and other noises from other apartments…There was also drilling in the concret-walls early Maundy Thursday… if you want to get to bed early and sleep long in the morning it is not the right place… Otherwise it is 100%… quite difficult to park nearby because of only 3 hours. About 15-20 minutes to walk for parking open 24/7

The location was great and the space for the studio was really nice. The bathroom was pretty small but clean. The small kitchen was great and had all the tools you'll need to put together a quick breakfast and dinner. The room was a little dark and could benefit from some brighter lighting. There are just two parking spots that are first come first serve. We were lucky enough to get a spot right when we were checking in and never moved the car during our two night stay which was so helpful! The only issue we had was with the wifi - it went out a couple of times during our stay and then twice we had trouble getting into the apartment I'm guessing because of connection issues. But the staff arrived quickly to help us get in.

The room was perfect for our needs. Comfortable beds for three, clean, excellent location. The staff was very responsive and helpful by phone or email.

Apartment was wonderful, amazing location! Super clean and comfortable, staff was friendly. I’d prefer to give 4.5 stars but that isn’t available. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was a few minor details. Seeing as it is an apartment with a kitchenette and kitchenware, it would have been great to have salt and pepper and cooking oil on hand as well, instead we had to purchase our own for a short stay which is not ideal. Secondly, when I first arrived I asked if there was parking available somewhere or if it was only paid street parking; I was told there was only paid street parking, I later saw there was 2 spots that indicated parking for “Rey Apartments”. After speaking to another front desk person the next day they said that yes, we could park there and would not have to pay. Finally, another issue came up where our wifi went down on the second day as well as the light in the corridor leading to our apartment, I informed someone at front desk and they said they would look into it and see what was happening when the night shift arrived. The wifi and light was still not working the next morning and when I went back, the morning person was not aware of any issue but said they would call someone to fix it today. Thankfully the issue was resolved when we returned later that day. I think a little better communication between staff could have helped. Honestly, those were minor things and everything else was perfect. I would stay here again and highly recommend!

Great space, great location. Walkable to everything. Only problem was finding out the proper entrance so our door code would work.

Apartment well situated in City. Good value for money. No issues. Minor concern the main lights in the rooms are not bright enough. Could not get hob to work. Not really an issue as microwave was okay.

GREAT LOCATION! Affordable! This is my 4th visit to Iceland and out of all my stays in Reykjavik, I liked this location the best. Staff friendly and sociable. Can’t wait to come back! The only negative was the shower curtain was gross at the bottom of it.

We had a great stay at Rey Apartments in Reyjavik. Our room was fantastic and we loved having a kitchenette and lounge to use in the mornings and evening. The location was fantastic and easily walkable to the main areas of town. The apartment was clean and check in was super easy. We'd definitely stay with you again!
