Taj Connemara

A great place to stay in Chennai, couple of good points and one downer. Overall it felt slightly a business hotel but with alot of colonial heritage. It had a nice (though hot pool) to relax at, more importantly it had an amazing restaurant called Rivertree tucked away that has delicious tasting menus and not too pricey. Go there. The downer wa a the check in. Knowing we’d land at 05:30 we advised them of this and booked an early checkin (by 10:00), we arrived at 06:30 and did checkin formalities and they kindly let us take breakfast and hang around. Sadly at 10 no room was ready and they tried to deny confirmation of early checkin. After frantic activity a room was found (slightly better than booked) by 11:00. When you tired from a flight you don’t need this, and if we’d been advised it wasn’t going to happen we wouldn’t have hung around and would have gone out to the beach and waited. On top of this they still charged us full whack for the early check. A bit of a sour note on what could have been a lovely stay with v friendly staff.

Heritage rooms

They are giving a best hospitality front office Manager the lady is Best I can’t remember her name And the Bar Staff Stephen and Chandra Look after us very well and restaurant staff I can’t remember all the staff name they are brilliant I will visit again

First time staying in Taj properties were not a disappointment. Service was impeccable, the restaurant verandha was amazing for breakfast. We did spend some time at the bar in the ground floor, the lady who was singing that evening just killed it!!! Good bar food and decent cocktails.

Painful stay

Very clean facility but quite a bit of mosquitoes inside the room inspite of air conditioning. That is something management needs to look at. For the charges being levied that should be addressed.

Very efficient and friendly service

The bedrooms needed an upgrade, the flooring in my room had certainly seen better days. The breakfast provided for an early departure was extremely low quality.

The service was excellent and the building was beautiful and clean, the food was delicious.

Breakfast area was reduced due to renovation works. Blinking led bulbs in the corridor which didn't get replaced.

Great hotel with excellent service

We had a wonderful stay at Taj. Travelling down from Sydney, we had a convenient pick up from the airport. The staff were very friendly and the service was amazing. Sakshi at the front desk and Yuvraj at the Verandah were amazing to deal with and we were looked after really well. Would love to stay again.

The staff at the reception and the restaurants were extremely helpful and kind

Really enjoyed our stay at Taj Connemara! The staff were all super friendly and soooo accommodating. It seemed like nothing was too much of an ask. The property had a grand British colonial feel about it. I’d say it’s historic but not dated. Really nice pool. Gym could be bigger but it was adequate (and better than most hotels). I lift regularly and was able to get a decent workout in. Good choice of eateries inside the hotel walls. Breakfast buffet was great - special call out to Shaji who always kept the coffee coming & made our stay special! Highly recommended - I’d happily stay again

#Pleasant Stay at Taj Connemara - A Solid Choice I recently stayed at Taj Connemara and had a very good experience overall. The hotel met my expectations in several areas and provided a comfortable base for my trip. ## Highlights: 1. **Staff**: The staff were friendly and professional. They were helpful when I had questions or requests. Attentive towards our 9 month old baby. Special mention to Hari & Nithu at morning breakfast 'Verandah'. 2. **Room**: My room was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, which allowed for restful nights. Chong at housing keeping did a marvelous job. 3. **Amenities**: The hotel offers useful amenities. I particularly appreciated the spa and the pool. 4. **Location**: The hotel's location was convenient, making it easy to access various parts of the city. Overall, I had a positive experience at Taj Connemara. It provided good value for the price and met most of my needs. I would consider staying here again on future visits to the area.

Food was excellent

Good but not great .

The hotel was very comfortable, with excellent service. Bed was so comfortable. Would surely recommend Taj Connemara. Their spa massage was awesome.

F&B staff were great, especially Bhaskar and Shaji
