What an extraordinary experience. Beautiful facility, spacious room, high end amenities, extraordinary service.
We were constantly surrounded by Balinese sincere kindness and attention to every need.
Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Many of whom have worked there since the hotel opened 20 years ago.
You can't do better in my mind and I've traveled the world.

We stayed in the Garden Villa, one of the more luxurious villas. Private pool (heated upon arrival!). A lot of luxury and space, all very nice.
We tried both restaurants, the fine dining one with a set menu (vegetarian option available) had amazing food. Expensive… but worth it.
We never got to rhe communal pool as our own was so good.
Complimentary shuttle to/from Ubud. Otherwise for other transport, get the Grab app, works very well and cheap - 25 Euro for a 2 hour drive). You need cash for this.
Tried Ubud Palace and the dance show, very nice but to see anything you need to come 1 - 1.5 hour before show and get a front seat.

Our experience at the Viceroy Ubud could not have been better.
Starting with the facilities, I can’t remember having a more beautiful hotel room. And we travel a lot. The entire facility was exceptionally well designed and felt very fresh and clean. We loved it.
Our pool suite was incredibly spacious, and we really did have our own private heated pool. It was phenomenal!
The staff was well trained and incredibly attentive. We ate dinner in the hotel both nights, and were quite pleased with the quality of the food and the service.
As nice extras, the hotel had a social hour the first night we were there, which included free, cocktails, which is always appreciated. They also had a great little spread of food.
Both restaurants are very good, and very different. We went to both and liked them.
We both got massages, and were quite pleased with those as well - both in terms of quality and price. And we took the complimentary morning yoga class, which we also enjoyed. The resort was so nice that we made the last-minute decision after arriving to center our entire Ubud experience around it!
The general manager, Patrick Farrell, took it personal interest in us. We felt like he genuinely cared about us and the experience we had at the hotel.
We’re delighted with the very peaceful nature of the resort given how hectic a day can be as a tourist in Bali.
We hope to return someday!
