Hotel Berna

Horrible

Staff was great and bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the free mini bar and water on our departure. Located close to the Central station and many good restaurants.

I've stayed at Hotel Berna a few times before, although it had been about 10 years prior to my recent visit. It's a great choice when you need to be near Milan Centrale train station for an early departure or because of a late arrival. Hotel Berna is interesting. The rooms are very different from another, so never quite sure what you are going to get, but you can be pleasantly surprised. This time I got a ground floor room, which felt a little dated, but was also quite large and had a jacuzzi tub (not one of the dated elements). Overall, very nice. I like the restaurant next store, which stays open a little late. I didn't have time for breakfast this time, but I remember that the breakfast and breakfast room are great. This is a hotel I will probably return to, next time I need to be near the train station.

It was clean

Wonderful staff. Cozy room. Pet stay for free which is huge, some hotels charge €39 per night. They also have a nice apertivo spread. Great location.

Love the breakfast

Despite the annex being virtually empty I was given the worst room in the entire hotel. I am not sure if this is in retaliation to booking with Expedia as a means of discouraging booking via 3rd party sites. Room 126 noise level is on an industrial scale and is not fit for human habitation. If it were a workplace the work safe authorities would probably shut it down. I rang down to reception and duty manager came up and did his well rehearsed attempt to fain surprise and concern. He then went to an electrical switch panel and turned off the air con fan. Firstly the practice of low level staff tampering with electrical system panels is unsafe and poses a severe threat to guests safety. Low level, low skilled staff should never be allowed to interfere with electrical switch systems and could easily result in critical safety systems being compromised. I was told I cold either have the noise or no air con. This in the middle of winter and as an elderly traveller put my health and safety at risk. I did no realise how cold and low the temperature in that room would plummet overnight. The result was I on my return home I was hospitalised with a lung infection from the severe chill endured in what was a situation which was not fit for habitation let alone a paying guest. I was not given the option to move to another room, perhaps due to the fact the other rooms were no better but suspect more out of pure discourteous lazy attitude and complete disregard for the health of gues

very courteous and friendly staff, breakfast is very good. Vanessa, one of the breakfast staff is very helpful and accommodating. Location is walking distance to the Milan Central station

Clean room, convenient location, reasonable price

Towels were scratchy and the shower changed temperature randomly, but the breakfast made up for it, exceeded expectations. There was a super dusty vent in the bathroom too.

Wish hotels.com would give option for breakfast included in price of hotel. It was expensive and were not informed of the price. $108 (15 euro per person) for 4 per day for a breakfast is not cheap! But everything else was excellent!

Bed was comfortably. Security top notch Your key card had yo be used 3 times and one more tie to actually keep the lights on in the room
