Clean room. Welcoming staff.
Very good breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised. Lots of food options.
The walls might need some painting inside the room.

The room was clean but no amenities except for body gel in the shower. No Kleenex, shampoo/conditioner or body lotion. The handle on the blow dryer was dirty. I think that they should vacuum the elevator fence and components. While waiting for it to arrive I could see so much dust.

Felt safe the entire time here! Perfect location, 8-10min walk to the main train station, which is also Stop 1 for the hop on hop off bus. The hotel is closer to the Stop 2 for the hop on hop off bus, only 4-5 min walk. Several restaurants and stores right outside the front door!

The only good part about this hotel was the Location! It is very close to all major tourist attractions and lot of hotels and shopping.
For this particular property- Room cleaning was terrible where used cups glasses were never changed. We had to ask for toilet rolls and fresh towels again and again. We got checked in and as we enter the room the lady was still cleaning,- front desk had no idea if the rooms were actually ready. The rooms were not cleaned till late afternoons so if you want to be back in rokm around 1 to rest from heat, you have to stay in uncleaned rooms.The cleaning staff leaves by 3 so after that you are on your own.
Thankfully they had an elevator but it was in a poor shape and scary to get in to. My kids preferred stairs for five floors all along our stay. The room set up is extremely claustrophobic.
The AC did NOT work in the heatwave. The staff pretended to get it repaired but eventually told us its old model and doesn't work well. No replacement room was offered either. They gave us 2 table fans, which barely did the job.This led to a terrible stay experience. Hotel Sonya was a major and only disappointment in Rome.

Overall, I rate this as a not good hotel to pick. The room was not comfortable for the cost with very old amenities. The triple room we had was on the first floor of another building and the toilet was in the basement.
Very bad smelly toilet and shower, old shower, and sink.
The window was to the backyard of another building.
The corridor was smelling moldy.
Hopefully we only stayed one night.
Staff was okay but could be better.
Breakfast was also normal and ok.
My previous experience in Rome in same area was much better.

The hotel’s location was really good. We don’t mind walking, so most places we wanted to see or go to were about 10-15 min away. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The air conditioning was very good. The bathroom was small as well as the shower, but for the price it was good. We stayed 3 nights and would go back again.

The room was fairly clean. The property is a few blocks to the train station. The hotel is old and worn out. I understand that a lot of European hotels are very old and on the small side, but this one was a let down. Air conditioning barely worked compared to other hotels in Italy and thick dust covered the elevator. The shower was very small. The breakfast was adequate and check in was very smooth. Pictures are deceiving.

Poor communication they never told me or ask me about they need to move me out to another building another hotel because bad maintenance and not WiFi at all nothing I try to ask to change me to move me to another because I really need my WiFi to set up me taxi and excursions. So disappointing and too much money

Literally the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. Avoid it. I booked a single room so I was expecting small. But I was not expecting to be put in another building across the street in a damp “basement type” room with no windows. The room was next the laundry and it leaked into my room and got my suitcases wet. I asked to be moved but got no reply.
Checkin was slow, took almost an hour.
Shower had mould in it. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
