Queensbay Mall

Being the largest mall in Penang Island, it is located in the heart of Bayan Lepas giving the view across the water of Pulau Jerejak and the Penang Bridge. Bayan Lepas Snake Temple

Unlike any other holy place on Earth, this temple’s tables, walkways, pillars and shrines are draped with a variety of pit-vipers. Visitors are promised an encounter with a number of rare snake species, including a king cobra and a colossal reticulated python. Though all the snakes have been de-venomed and thick incense keeps them in docile state, visitors are strongly advised not to pick up any of the slithering creatures as their fangs remain intact. Curiously, the temple’s devotees continue to insist that the snakes have come to the temple on their own accord.

Penang War Museum

Penang War Museum at Batu Maung is located at the former British fortress built to repel a Japanese attack that never came. There are many interesting artifacts including artillery pieces and booby traps to uniforms and strategic maps. Some of the exhibits are found underground in what used to be ammunition bunkers. Several old tunnels used by the British soldiers can be explored. However, it should be aware that there are pits with deep drops that may be dangerous to children.

Penang Aquarium

The Penang Aquarium also known as the Fisheries Research Institute Aquarium housed a total of 25 fish tanks in its darkened aquarium area. Visitors can have a look at some pretty exotic species such as the moray eel, the lion fish and the giant catfish. At the open air garden area, there is a koi and carp pond together with a turtle pool and some tanks containing invertebrates like starfishes and anemones.
