By Train

By Bus
There are two main express bus stations in Penang, Penang Sentral near the ferry terminal and KTM train station and Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal on Penang Island (around 10 minutes’ drive from Butterworth). Bukit Mertajam is just a short distance away from Penang Sentral / KTM (ETS Train) / Ferry terminal. You can take Rapid Penang bus 701 and 702 from Penang Sentral to go to Bukit Mertajam. For bus, you might have to wait 30 to 50 minutes for the bus to come.
