Makam Mahsuri - Makam Mahsuri is one of the major attraction places in Langkawi. It is the crypt of the legendary Princess Mahsuri. The visitors who came to this place are able to learn the history of Princess Mahsuri. A long time ago, Mahsuri got married with her love during a conflict with the Siamese. At that time, the incident was started from with her beauty and ended up with a curse of bad luck for seven generations. Langkawi was going through a rough time for seven generation before it is known as a tourist destination. There are a few of Mahsuri’s jewellery and weapon for her execution as well as a large portrait of her and her descendants was displayed in the museum of Makam Mahsuri. Besides that, the visitors can see the Malay architecture by walking around the wooden houses. The admission fee for local is RM5 per adult and for a child below 12 years old will RM2.50. For non-local, the fee for one adult is RM10 and RM5 for a child. This place opens daily from 9 am until 5 pm. The journey from Belukar Lodges to Makam Mahsuri will take about 8 minutes of driving.
