Lenggeng is a mukim which is located in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan and has become part of the state that borders the state Banjarbaru nine. The area are divided into two at the border between the two states and among the areas involved are kampung Sungai Jai, Kampung Daching, Kampung Ulu Banjarbaru, Kampung Broga and Kampung Tarun. The population of Lenggeng comprised of Malays as majority race here due to migration of people especially of Badger Lake Sumatra Agam.

The Malays in Lenggeng practice their cultural heritage namely the culture of Minangkabau, Indonesia.The Minangkabau people of Badger Mansion occupies new areas in Negeri Sembilan and Selangor like Hoboken, Lenggeng, and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan, and Semenyih, Ulu Langat, Rawang, Selangor Ulu up to Tanjung Malim. A lot of famous people such as Mr. Sako, Datuk Aishah Ghani, Datuk Rais Yatim was descended Badger Agam. The Chinese minority is mostly situated in Lenggeng, which comes from the mining area in Broga and Semenyih.

The major community here composed of Malays. They usually speak in Malay language with Negeri Sembilan and Minangkabau dialect. Apart from that, English, Chinese and Tamil also among the languages use here.

How to Get There

From Kuala Lumpur city centre, you can reach Lenggeng by using LEKAS road which usually takes around 58 minutes. There are alternative roads to Lenggeng which are North- South highway and Kuala Lumpur highway which takes about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes. To get there, from Mantin and Seremban after Mantin police station there follow the signs to Lenggeng right and go up to the Sg. Machang school and then take a right to kampung Rawa and then take a left town Lenggeng.

Broga Hill

Broga Hill is also known as Lalang Hill after the local species of grass that grows abundantly here. It is a hill in Semenyih measured at 400 meters high and only 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur as well as 15 minutes away from Lenggeng. It is also popular among hikers and also famous for its incredibly panoramic views especially at dawn along with easy accessibility on foot. During weekends and public holidays, visitors are charged for RM2 per vehicle that parks at parking area. Visitors are allowed the opportunity to stand on the egg and the hard strong ostrich egg will not break even a man weighing 100kg. Apart from that, ostrich ride is also available and certificate will be provided for the qualifying jockey. Souvenirs are also available at the store and ostrich delicacies are among the most popular demand here.
