Immaculate!
We had only one night in Melaka, but couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our room was huge, immaculate, and so beautifully appointed. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful - and that adds greatly to the pleasure of any stay. When we arrived we were given a voucher for high tea that afternoon as well as for breakfast. Breakfast was expected, the high tea was a bonus - and actually served as our lunch that day. One minor suggestion - it would b good to have somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom. The location of the hotel, close to Jonker St, is excellent - we were happy to walk for our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Simply outstanding service
I had booked this hotel for a friend of mine who was travelling to Malaysia for a few days, Malacca being her first stop. On top of not speaking a word of english, she was very unfortunate and got her purse stolen in the bus leading her to Malacca from Singapore, with her passport and credit cards... The poor thing was devastated and in great need of help. Well the Heeren Palm Suites staff went beyond expectations to provide that help. A very special thank you to SAIFUL who took care of her like his own grandmother. He went with her to the police station to make the statement required to get the emergency passport from the embassy. He was in constant direct contact with me to make sure she understood everything (even installed a translation app on his phone to be able to communicate with her). He checked on her on a regular basis and made sure she could find her way around the city and even took her shopping at some point. But on top of it all, he even checked on her on the last evening when she was staying in a different hotel and made sure she had her taxi booked for the next day. Simply amazing. He truly deserves the "Employee of the year" award. His presence meant a lot to solve many problems and mostly to keep her spirits up! Bravo... Regarding the hotel, I didn't go there myself but my friend told me it's very beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and they even have a little area for children to play. Thank you again!! Flavie.

Beautiful and quiet hotel
We stayed two nights in the wonderful boutique hotel. Very nice entrance and lovely room with modern bathroom (including rain shower) and a very good bed. Our room (#203) was very quiet. Breakfast was very nice with omelette and warm local dishes, fruit juice and nice coffee. The fresh fruit selection was rather limited, but sufficient. Hotel is located close to the Jonker Walk, and the town centre. Staff was very helpful. Couldn't wish for a better start of our vacation.

Beautiful heritage hotel with amazing, helpful staff
Its a beautiful peranakan style hotel in the midst of all the tourist spots. I was there with 5 of my friends and we had an amazing weekend. We were welcomed by Mr. Omar at the front desk and he was very helpful and swift in checking us in. Mr. Mohammad who is in charge of housekeeping was great at helping us settle into our rooms. This hotel is so close to Jonker Street, the Dutch Square and amazing peranakan restaurants. The breakfast was served by the ever so pleasant and cheerful Miss Najwa and Kaki Kaka. The nasi lemak and chicken rendang was super tasty coupled together with the free flow of lattes, cappuccinos and expresso coffee made our breakfast experience wonderful each morning. Its definitely a place I will return to. Thank you so much for an amazing stay..:)

A beautiful eclectic retreat nearby the action
Heeren Palm Suites hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the popular Jonker street. It is the first of 3 sister boutique hotels I had the opportunity to visit. The other two were the GingerFlower Boutique Hotel and the Heeren Straits Hotel. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Omar at the front. He provided us with refreshing towels and guava juice as we were checking in. The front entrance is traditional Peranakan opening up to a set of deep spaces - mini courtyard water catchments and the breakfast bar at the far back and its patio. The place is incredibly clean and well kept. Mohammad who heads house keeping helped show us to our rooms. The rooms were all relatively spacious. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. Showers were absent of mold in an environment that is humid. Rooms were well air conditioned and comfortable. Being a bit further down towards the end of Jonker away from the canal, it is quieter. Makes for an incredibly peaceful rest in the evenings. And yet never far off the beaten path. Breakfasts are a mix of American, Chinese and Peranakan style. Kaji Kaka and Mis Najwa always greeted us cheerfully, ready to help us. Espresso, coffee and cappuccino were a welcome free flow and prompt. My 5 girlfriends and I felt comfortable hanging out on the patio enjoying the aesthetics, the food and our conversation. So much so, I returned the following weekend with my husband! The street that the hotel is on, also hosts Peranakan food, a Peranakan museum, art galleries, restaurants, ma and pop corner stores and boutique shops. It's less than a 10min pleasant walk to the canal and the fort. Another 10 minutes and you are at the ticketing place for the river boat cruise. This is now my favourite weekend get away where I can rest, slow down, be surrounded by an incredible culture and amazing food, the sound of birds, art, a fun (and safe) nightlife and friendly people.
