Charming Guesthouse
The stay at ke-lan-tan House was awesome. It has a strong old-house vibe to it but the team managed to maintain it nicely. It was clean and comfortable. Loved their attention to details in term of interior design. The team was very helpful as well. The soundproofing wasn't that good but it was within expectation.

Beautifully restored old house - bit far from center of town.
Loved Kelantan House, you really get a feel of what heritage Georgetown is all about. Beautiful old Chinese house with turn of the century features including wooden shutters instead of curtains and old windows turned into tables. We were initially put off by our bathroom being down the corridor but that soon turned into fun and as they are completely private so it's not a problem. It's actually quite nice to see they haven't given in, to knocking down walls to accommodate guests. Lovely lounge areas for reading with complimentary tea and biscuits. Could not fault the house or the accommodation. However for an honest review I have to say the staffing needs a bit of work, carrying heavy cases up the steps alone is hard work, had to remind them to clean the room after a full day out, had to ask for and fresh towels etc., so they do need to improve that. It's not 5 star but then the price reflects that. Another issue is the noice factor, it's in a residential area behind the police station so do bring ear plugs as if your room is facing the street it is noisy at nights and early morning. Do also note that it's at least a 20 min walk from the main heritage town, yes there are buses but the timetable is very haphazard so taxis are the best idea. We were warned by both taxi drivers and friends living in Penang that this area is slightly unsafe so do bear that in mind especially if your women alone or have young kids. We took taxis there and back into the main heritage area, 5 mins and only Rm5 so not an issue, if you don't have internet connection get the hotel to get you a grab taxi. ___________________

Delightful little place to stay in Georgetown, Penang
Like staying in an old refurbished home as a guest, this 8 room boutique hotel created from three old terrace houses in a quiet street in Georgetown, Penang, is walking distance to food and major shopping areas. Only two rooms have en-suites but the others have keys to individually allocated bathrooms at the rear. The comfortable bed, airconditioning, flat screen TV, quick WiFi, and a surprise rain shower fixture in the bathroom giving instant hot water were all very pleasant. Shared tea and coffee making with nice biscuits are in an area behind a small air-well with plants and an unusual water feature, like a tiny oasis. Beer and bottled water can be purchased from the fridge there, but 2 bottles of free water are in the bedroom. The innovative use of recycled material, old and antique furniture and surprising things encountered made this place a unique place to stay. Certainly tickled the mind and the five senses. Visit the "Moody Cow" cafe for a huge slice of Durian Madness cake or get their giant cookies to eat or bring back home for your kids. Instructions to walk there from staff.

Amazing stay for 1 night..
This little amazing traditional Chinese house made my stay in Penang sooo lovely.. The little hotel is like a cute dorm..located in the middle of the old town of Penang.. which is like near by everything u wonna visit.. There are a few available rooms.. There's two floors.. the ground floor where i stayed was so calm with the refurbished lovely Chinese restroom.. the only issue i had which is not a big deal that u have to cross the small yard of the house to get to ur private bathroom.. at the beginning i thought its like weird. . But honestly it was fun.. same as Arabic and Turkish old traditional houses in the 20s and 30s.. The house has like a cozy salon and reception so u could have many types of tea and coffee with delicious biscuits .. The staff were veryyyh helpful and friendly. . They even let us to check in at 8:30 am.. Supper recommended 👍👍👍
