Room after renovation very nice and clean
Strategic place. Large room. Breakfast is simple. Air conditioning needs to be maintained.
Good enjoy and happy, good swimming pool.
the room is okay, just the toilet's floor became stagnant easily.
A conclusion from our stay : Strengths 1. The food was good. 2. Room was spacious for a double bed and we stayed on the highest floor. 3. The aircond was working fine and cold too. 4. The washroom was okay and air-ventilated. 5. Parking space was great. 6. There were Secret Recipe and Domino's Pizza near the lobby. Weakness 1. Toilet seat was loose and could'nt pump properly.
More than I expected! Booked a 3 pax room, didn't know the room would be this big! Suitable for family with kids as they can run around in the room like the fact that the single bed got its own area. View of Sg Muar and the city from our 10th floor room. Secret Recipe and Domino's at Ground Floor, meaning during their opening time you have to 'share' parking with their customers, but it's ok because ample free parking space around the hotel. Above all, I got a good deal from traveloka rm180 with breakfast, worth it! Just one minus point is that the toilet produces terrible smell and WiFi not working
Enjoyable and friendly. Good view. Easy to park.

Poor service and disappointing stay
My parents stayed at Muar Traders Hotel while they were in Muar for my dad's 50th high school reunion. My parents were so excited for their trip and asked me to book their room well in advance of their trip. However, when they arrived at the hotel, they were told that there was no reservation made under their name. Which was not true because when my parents made a fuss and called me to complain about this, they then suddenly found my records of my parents' hotel booking. When I called the hotel about this later, I was informed by the staff that it was my mistake for not confirming the booking. If this is true, it's ridiculous since I travel regularly for work and never once have I been requested to call back and reconfirm my telephone booking, prior to my arrival. If this is the practice at this hotel, then it should have been made clear to me during my initial phone call to them to book the room. Overall, it was a very disappointing room and stay, which was made even worse by the poor service. 'Thank you' for ruining my parents' 50th high school reunion weekend.

The room is big but it has seen better days. Our river view was good. In the shower area, there is no tray to hold the shampoo and conditioner bottle nor bar of soap. Got to do a balancing act. Generally, the place needs maintenance.

Good stay but staffs - not so!
Stay here for a night. Upon arrival, we check in but the staffs are very slow. It took us like 20 minutes to get us check in and somemore there's no A/C at the reception. Building a bit run down but the rooms are nice and well maintain. Still worth the price paid, Just the staffs only need to improve.

short weekend gateway in Muar
We stayed here for one night. The room was dirty and it was so obvious that the carpet/floor was never vacuumed. We saw balls of strangers' hairs on the floor. I even had a thought "maybe they did not even change the bed sheet". We requested for an additional pillow and it would cost us RM5 per pillow per night. The entire room's furniture looked tired and in a serious need of a makeover. The breakfast buffet was simple and we could see the staff struggled to keep up with the crowd. The good things - parking are free and the hotel is centrally located in town. But I will not stay here again due to the lack of room's cleanliness. Surprisingly, a lot of people stayed here during that weekend - I guess their rooms were cleaner than mine.

Deluxe Queen room wasn't worth the money. Walls had no sound-proofing. Good location,.
By the looks of it there is a big difference between the various rooms at this hotel. We took the Deluxe Queen for 150RM. It was very small, felt kind of old, but the worst thing was the sound-proofing or lack there of. Were awoken at 6am by baby crying in neighbours rooms. The sound coming through the gaps in the walls was unbelievably loud. It seems that only some of the rooms have been renovated and some have balconies...perhaps we just lucked-out on that particular room? If you stay there I advise inspecting the rooms first so you know what to expect...and hope for quiet neighbours if you do take one of the small non-renovated rooms. Location was excellent. View of Muar river from room was nice. Breakfast wasn't inspiring, limited selection though can't expect too much for a 3 star hotel. Also our rooms didn't get cleaned till about 2:30 in the afternoon, I guess small town service is a little relaxed in that respect.
