Thon Hotel Bristol Bergen

Hospitality and restaurants were on strike for the duration of our stay, but the stay present were all very helpful and available. The only thing we noticed were that the hallways could have a better hoovering. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have even known they were short staffed. The street noise can be loud but they provide earplugs. My one complaint is that the towels left lint on our bodies when we would dry off. Once dry, if we rubbed our skin with our hands, fluff would come off of us. Would still recommend this hotel for its prime location and lovely staff and breakfast!

The Thon Bristol Bergen was in a wonderful location. It was in the city centre near the Light Rail, the train station, and the wharf. The hotel was near many restaurants. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were so professional, friendly, and helpful. Many beautiful stores were so close but it was a holiday and they were all closed.

Very good central location. Functional Hotel. No frills — but don’t view it as a negative. Good , Functional Place to stay when visiting Bergen. We stayed at the Bristol for 3 nights in May ‘26

Had to climb steps to get to the room. Not convenient when have luggage

Very good buffet breakfast. However, AC was not operating in our room, so had to open windows, as it got way too hot (24C) through the night. That let noise and light in. So didn't have a good sleep - the primary function of a hotel. One towel was threadbare. The bed was comfortable, as were the sheets. Bathroom was compact; only a shower stall, not tub.

The breakfast is amazing! And it’s complementary it has fishes and cheeses and smoked salmon and meats and fruit and juices. Everything it’s delicious and this hotel is right in the center of the city on the plaza so when you walk out, you don’t have to worry about traffic.

Breakfast was excellent. Gluten Free was well catered for including sweet treats like chocolate brownies! Staff were helpful and attentive. Rooms were cleaned daily.

Very fun staying in this old treasure between the lake and the train station. Very convenient on our trip back to Bergen, and the breakfast was terrific!

Great location, clean rooms, chose room with Nespresso machine. Staff helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, nice down bedding and choice of down pillows, slept great. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices, very fresh. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants about 12 minute walk to Havila Port. Safe City for solo female travelers. Would stay again.

Just returned from a 4- night stay at Thon Briston in beautiful Bergen. The trip was a reunion with my family in Europe and I cannot be happier for choosing this hotel. There were 6 of us in this trip, staying in 5 separate rooms, and everyone had only great things to say about our stay in Thon Bristol. When we arrived we found out that the hotel and restaurant workers in Norway had just went on a strike. Some hotels closed their doors, and made their guests to leave, but not Thon Bristol. Can you imagine traveling from the other side of the world only to be told that you have nowhere to stay? We are so grateful to the hotel and their wonderful staff for welcoming us in and making our stay comfortable and memorable. Special thanks goes to the Front Desk staff who were friendly, helpful and professional. All our rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable- perfect for getting some rest after a busy day exploring stunning Bergen. Breakfast was included with the stay, and what a breakfast it was! The food was perfectly prepared( compliments to the chef), beautifully arranged, and the variety was better than some of the grand 5- star hotels I have stayed at. There were even local specialties, like the famous brown cheese, and because of that, it “ gained “ 6 new followers, with packs of it going home with my family. The location of the hotel is perfect- 5 min to the harbour, the Fish Market and everything else. Thank you, Thon Bristol Bergen, for a wonderful stay!
