Restful River Bungalow.

Beautiful place, kind hosts, fantastic views, quiet and peculiar

We had a wonderful stay with our family of four while we were in Phong Nha for some cave tours. The Restful River is rustic, but it suited our needs. There is air conditioning - crucial in July - and a beautiful view of the river and hills from our balcony. We felt the room provided great value compared to the hotels in bigger Vietnamese cities. The beds were old and broken mattress springs were noticeable, but we were tired enough from hiking that we slept soundly. We were only provided two small blankets, so I was cold sharing a bed with my blanket-stealing child! We also wished there had been a desk or some surface to organize our belongings; as it was, all our luggage was just on the ground. The pool was big and a perfect temperature. Like many pools in Vietnam, it should have a skimmer available, because in the evening the surface of the water is covered in dead bugs. The property owners were friendly and helpful, offering rides and prepping our breakfast in advance for early morning starts. Our major wish, apart from better beds, would be a shorter walk to town. There are some little restaurants and shops nearby, but the main town strip is about 30 minutes on foot. For the price, Restful River was a nice, comfortable place to rest after awe-inspiring days of hiking in Phong Nha.

Stayed in one of the river facing bungalows and our stay was perfect. The property is clean, had a great pool and run by a very friendly staff. Food options were great too.

It rained throughout the 3 nights we stayed at Phòng Nha. Luckily for us this guest house/hotel had a restaurant so we didn’t have to walk outside to eat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a simple but very good value place, with nice rooms, a swimming pool and a fantastic view. I would go back there if I returned to Phòng Nha

The location of this hotel was nice, beautiful scenery. It was a clean room. It was nice that I could pay extra to be picked up from my bus, especially when it was kind of late 10pm. But I actually felt unwelcome kind of odd like I wasn’t supposed to be there. When we arrived I was just placed into my room quickly and wasn’t given any information, nothing about the wifi or breakfast. I guess there isn’t breakfast? When I walked around the property searching 8:30-9:30 there was no one around. I saw reviews before booking about meals and very good food, maybe I came at a bad time. There’s no restaurants around and I hadn’t eaten since 3pm the day before with the long bus ride so that was a big let down for me. I had booked with this in mind. Just felt strange. Was feeling glad I only spent one night, it was comfortable enough for sleeping. No one was around for check out either so I just left my key on the counter.

Beautiful location, nice facilities, friendly and helpful owners/staff, good food reasonably priced.

We had a lovely stay with Quy and his family who work tirelessly in looking after their homestay. It was about a 10 minute bike ride outside the centre. Great for exploring the caves. Paradise cave being our favourite one, amazing! We also did the Botanical gardens which was more like a jungle trek for 2.5 hours! Overall we had a great time and cannot recommend this place highly enough, with Quy providing the local knowledge you cannot go wrong. Thank you!

That property is really good, near by the river, with lovely swimming pool, the owner is so helpful, he arranged for us everything. The food is tasty, room was clean and really nice design. Was really lovely.

Very nice view with river and the mountain on the other side of the river. Very clean room and great service staff. Quiet place to relax. It's worth the price to stay at Restful River Bungalow. Everyone who travel to Phong Nha and Paradise caves or for other surrounding places should try Restful River Bungalow.

Belle chambre propre donnant sur la rivière, un havre de paix. A recommander vivement.

Hotel exceptionnel : accueil très chaleureux, petit-déjeuner et nourriture fantastique (tester les pancakes et le poulet au barbecue !), situé au bord de la rivière et à 2 pas des trecks dans la jungle, très belle piscine et vélo gratuit à disposition. Rien à redire, on a adoré !
