Hotel service so impressive. They also provide breakfast to take away and it's not only noodle or rice. There are 3 boxes: 1 box for appetizer (egg, banana, yogurt), 1 box for heavy meal (fried noodle/fried rice) and 1 box for dessert (cakes/buns). Hotel staff always try their best eventhough language barrier. Welcome drink provided and it's nice. Room spacious, clean, and comfortable. Really recommended for tourists.

The overall services are good, from the shuttle bus from HCMC, quick check-in, good food at the restaurant, pool for kids, many places for photo shooting, clean and comfy rooms, my kid liking the corridor way. There are many nice places internally. We also ate out for one dinner at a nearby seafood place, taking a taxi for 10 minutes. Good short 1 night stay for family with kids.

More about hotels in Vietnam

Vietnam: A Tapestry of Experiences for the Malaysian Explorer

For Malaysian travellers seeking a destination that offers a rich blend of culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes, Vietnam stands out as a compelling choice. It’s a country that unfolds its wonders gradually, revealing layers of tradition and modernity that resonate deeply with visitors from Southeast Asia. The proximity and familiar yet distinct cultural nuances make it an accessible adventure, promising discoveries that feel both exotic and comfortably within reach. From the bustling streets of its major cities to the serene beauty of its natural vistas, Vietnam offers a journey that engages all the senses.

The sheer diversity across Vietnam’s regions ensures that no two visits are ever quite the same. Imagine the cool, misty highlands of Da Lat, a stark contrast to the vibrant energy of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. Picture the coastal charm of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, then contrast it with the historical depth of areas like Hai Chau and Ngu Hanh Son in Da Nang, or the lively beaches of Nha Trang. Even the less-explored regions like Nghe An offer unique cultural insights. This geographical and cultural mosaic means travellers can tailor their trip precisely to their interests, whether it’s adventure, relaxation, or cultural immersion.

Understanding the value proposition is key for Malaysian travellers. With an average review score of 8.6 from over 2.4 million reviews, Vietnam’s hospitality sector is clearly well-regarded. Prices starting from an attractive rate per night mean that a trip to Vietnam can be remarkably cost-effective, especially when compared to other international destinations. This affordability, coupled with high guest satisfaction, signals an excellent opportunity for travellers to experience a high standard of accommodation and service without straining their budget, making it an attractive option for both short breaks and extended explorations. Use Traveloka to find cheap hotels — cheap hotel.

Consider the allure of Mui Ne, a coastal highlight known for its dramatic sand dunes and laid-back atmosphere. This destination embodies Vietnam’s ability to offer unique natural attractions that captivate visitors. It’s a place where adventure meets tranquility, from sunrise visits to the red and white sand dunes to enjoying fresh seafood by the ocean. For Malaysian travellers looking for a beach escape with a difference, Mui Ne provides a memorable setting. It’s a perfect example of how Vietnam offers distinct experiences, encouraging visitors to explore further and book hotel rooms that place them right in the middle of such captivating locales.

Vietnam’s appeal spans a wide spectrum of travellers. Families will find resorts and coastal towns offering ample activities for children, while couples can discover romantic retreats in the highlands or charming boutique stays in historic cities. Solo adventurers will appreciate the ease of travel and the welcoming nature of the locals, particularly in hubs like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Business travellers can also find well-equipped hotels in major economic centres. The key is matching the right region to the traveller’s intent, ensuring a fulfilling journey for everyone.

Best Areas to Stay in Vietnam

Vietnam’s diverse geography and rich cultural tapestry mean that where you choose to stay will significantly shape your travel experience. From the northern highlands to the southern deltas, each city and region possesses a distinct character, offering unique attractions, culinary delights, and atmospheres. For Malaysian travellers, understanding these differences is crucial to selecting a base that aligns with their interests, whether they seek bustling city life, serene natural beauty, historical exploration, or relaxing beach holidays. Choosing the right area ensures your trip is tailored to your preferences, maximising enjoyment and discovery.

Hanoi

Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, offers a captivating blend of ancient traditions and dynamic modernity, making it a prime destination for Malaysian travellers. The Old Quarter, with its maze of narrow streets, traditional shops, and street food vendors, provides an immersive cultural experience. Here, you can witness daily life unfold at a leisurely pace, a stark contrast to the rapid development seen in other parts of the city. It’s an ideal base for those who appreciate history, culture, and authentic local experiences, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s enduring heritage. Families will enjoy the historical sites, while couples can find charming cafes and serene lakes.

From Hanoi, iconic landmarks like the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, and the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake are easily accessible. The city is a culinary destination, famous for dishes like Pho and Bun Cha, best enjoyed at local eateries or bustling night markets. Hanoi is well-connected internationally, with Noi Bai International Airport serving numerous flights from Malaysia. Within the city, navigating the Old Quarter is best done on foot, while taxis and ride-sharing apps are available for longer distances. For those looking to explore beyond the capital, day trips to Ninh Binh or Ha Long Bay are popular choices, offering opportunities to book attraction tickets in advance.

Da Nang & Hoi An

Da Nang, often referred to as the "City of Bridges," offers a modern coastal vibe with beautiful beaches and a growing urban landscape, while the nearby ancient town of Hoi An provides a step back in time with its preserved architecture and lantern-lit streets. This combination appeals to a broad range of Malaysian travellers, from families looking for beach fun and cultural exploration to couples seeking romantic settings. Da Nang’s My Khe Beach is perfect for relaxation and water sports, while Hoi An’s UNESCO World Heritage status guarantees a rich historical and cultural immersion, with its tailor shops and artisanal crafts.

Key attractions in Da Nang include the Marble Mountains, Son Tra Peninsula with its Linh Ung Pagoda, and the Dragon Bridge. Hoi An’s charm lies in its ancient town, Japanese Covered Bridge, and vibrant night market. Both areas are renowned for their distinct culinary scenes; Da Nang offers fresh seafood and Mi Quang noodles, while Hoi An is famous for Cao Lau and White Rose dumplings. Da Nang International Airport connects directly to major Malaysian cities. Getting between Da Nang and Hoi An is a short taxi or bus ride, making it convenient to experience both. This region is ideal for those wanting a mix of beach relaxation and historical discovery.

Ho Chi Minh City (District 1)

Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, is Vietnam’s economic powerhouse and a city that pulses with energy. District 1, the city's central hub, is where many travellers choose to stay, offering a dynamic mix of colonial architecture, modern skyscrapers, bustling markets, and a vibrant nightlife. It’s an excellent base for Malaysian visitors who want to experience the fast-paced urban life, explore historical landmarks, and indulge in world-class dining and shopping. The district is particularly suited for solo travellers and couples looking for convenience and a wide array of entertainment options.

District 1 is home to iconic sites such as the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market, a rich collection for souvenirs and local delicacies. The culinary scene here is extensive, ranging from street food stalls serving Banh Mi and Pho to upscale restaurants offering international and Vietnamese fusion cuisine. Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the main gateway, with frequent flights from Malaysia. Within District 1, walking is feasible for many attractions, supplemented by taxis and ride-sharing services. The city also serves as a gateway for day trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels or the Mekong Delta.

Mui Ne & Phan Thiet

Mui Ne and its neighbouring city Phan Thiet offer a distinct coastal experience, renowned for their dramatic sand dunes, long stretches of beach, and a more relaxed pace compared to the major cities. This area is a favourite for Malaysian travellers seeking a beach holiday with a touch of adventure. The iconic red and white sand dunes provide unique photo opportunities and activities like sandboarding, while the coastline is perfect for kite surfing and windsurfing. It’s an ideal destination for families looking for a fun beach getaway and couples seeking a tranquil escape.

Beyond the sand dunes, Mui Ne boasts attractions like the Fairy Stream, a shallow stream flowing through colourful rock formations, and the Mui Ne Fishing Village, offering a glimpse into local life. The seafood here is exceptionally fresh and affordable, a major draw for food lovers. While there isn't a major international airport directly serving Mui Ne, travellers typically fly into Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang and then take a bus or private transfer. The journey itself offers scenic views of the Vietnamese countryside. This region is perfect for those who want to unwind by the sea and engage in light adventure activities.

Da Lat

Da Lat, set in the Central Highlands, presents a refreshing change of pace with its cool climate, pine forests, and French colonial architecture. Often called the "City of Eternal Spring," it offers a romantic and serene atmosphere that appeals to couples and families seeking a tranquil retreat. The city's unique landscape, dotted with waterfalls, flower gardens, and picturesque lakes, provides a stark contrast to Vietnam's coastal and urban destinations. It’s a place where visitors can enjoy outdoor activities in a pleasant, temperate environment, making it a refreshing addition to any Vietnamese itinerary.

Key attractions in Da Lat include the Xuan Huong Lake, the Valley of Love, the Crazy House, and numerous flower gardens showcasing the region's horticultural prowess. The local cuisine features unique highland specialties, such as grilled meats and artichoke tea. While Da Lat has its own airport (Lien Khuong Airport) with domestic connections, direct flights from Malaysia are less common, often requiring a layover in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. Getting around Da Lat is best done by taxi or motorbike, allowing exploration of its hilly terrain and surrounding natural beauty. It’s a destination for those who appreciate nature, a cooler climate, and a more laid-back vibe.

A Culinary Journey Through Vietnam

Vietnam's culinary landscape is a vibrant exploration of fresh ingredients, delicate flavours, and regional specialities that offer a delightful contrast to Malaysian palates. From the aromatic noodle soups of the north to the complex seafood dishes of the coast, each region boasts its own distinct gastronomic identity. The emphasis on fresh herbs, balanced tastes, and visually appealing presentation makes Vietnamese food a true art form. For Malaysian travellers, exploring these flavours is an integral part of the travel experience, promising discoveries that are both exciting and deeply satisfying.

Iconic dishes like Pho, a fragrant beef or chicken noodle soup, and Banh Mi, a crusty baguette filled with various savoury ingredients, are national treasures. Bun Cha, grilled pork patties served with vermicelli noodles and fresh herbs, is another must-try, particularly in Hanoi. For Muslim travellers from Malaysia, finding halal food requires a bit of planning. While pork is prevalent, many restaurants offer chicken or beef options, and some establishments are explicitly Muslim-friendly. Major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have growing numbers of halal eateries, often catering to international visitors, and it’s advisable to look for "halal" signs or inquire directly.

The regional diversity of Vietnamese cuisine is a compelling reason to explore different parts of the country. In the north, Pho and Bun Cha dominate, often characterised by simpler, more subtle flavours. Central Vietnam, particularly around Hue, is known for its imperial cuisine, featuring intricate dishes and spicy flavours. The south offers a richer, sweeter palate, with dishes often incorporating coconut milk and fresh herbs, alongside popular street food like Banh Xeo (crispy pancakes). This culinary variation ensures that every meal can be a new adventure, reflecting the unique character of each locale.

When dining in Vietnam, Malaysian travellers will find that meal times are generally flexible, with street food available throughout the day and evening. Tipping is not customary but is appreciated for exceptional service. Prices for street food are very affordable, typically ranging from RM 5 to RM 15 per dish, while restaurant meals can vary significantly. Ordering is usually straightforward; pointing at dishes or using simple English phrases often suffices. Embracing the local dining culture, from bustling markets to humble eateries, is key to experiencing the authentic flavours of Vietnam. book flight

The hotel is clean. Friendly reception, room price is extremely reasonable compared to room quality. Beautiful modern room. There is a swimming pool on the 8th floor. However, the thing I am most dissatisfied with is the tile floor in the toilet. The hotel chose to line it with regular floor tiles - so when there is water on the floor + wearing hotel slippers is extremely dangerous. My friend and I fell once and almost fell many more times. Hopefully the hotel will use additional floor coverings to reduce this situation. Because Da Nang is quite small, one round trip is enough - so at the hotel's location, it's about 20-25k to grab a motorbike to the center. The hotel rents motorbikes at reasonable prices. Overall 9.5/10 points
