I wish I had read more detailed reviews before booking this hotel. In my opinion, it is a very simple hotel and does not justify the price. The only positive point is the beach access, with stairs leading directly to the beach. The hotel has a swimming pool and sauna, but the pool did not appear to be cleaned daily. There was visible hair and dirt floating on the surface. I got in, noticed it, and left immediately. The rooms are disappointing for a four-star hotel. There is no minibar or safe, and the room is very small, especially the bathroom. The shower area is tiny, the water takes a long time to get warm, and our shower door was broken, causing water to spread across the bathroom floor. Cleanliness was also an issue. There were visible spider webs on the ceiling and on the lamps above the bed. Breakfast is very basic and not worth the £16 per person. The options were limited to bread, cereals, eggs, and sausages, with very little variety. The biggest problem was parking. The hotel does not offer free parking, and the paid spaces are very limited. We spent around 40 minutes looking for a place to park and eventually had to leave the car elsewhere and walk about 12 minutes carrying heavy luggage and beach equipment. Overall, I would not stay here again and do not think the hotel offers value for the price charged.

Although on arrival the rooms were clean. They allocated one room in the loft and my friend who is 4ft 10 ins banged her head twice as the ceiling was very low. They did allocate another room. Rooms were very small. We did not want them to change the sheets or bath towels but they did not do the bed properly. Everything else was acceptable. Staff in reception were helpful. Wish the food was slightly cheaper, very expensive breakfast. A full english breakfast with fruits. Juices, cereals, assorted breads and croissants were 11 pounds per head in premier inn which was very enjoyable.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean. The hotel is very dated and needs a lot of maintenance. I'm not sure it quite meets the criteria for 4* because of this. The pool was really warm but it is very small. The steam room was out of order during our stay which is a shame, the sauna and pool were the only part that was well maintained. I didn't use the small gym. Our room needed a lot of work, the window frame was rotten and the glass was rattling around, the sealant around the bathroom was coming off and the bath panel starting to disintegrate at the bottom. The room was however, very clean with a comfortable bed.

Been going to Bournemouth for years and this is first time staying here. Really friendly reception staff on arrival.The rooms are spacious and clean.Good bar area and breakfast room was really nice. Probably the best breakfast ive had at a Bournemouth hotel. Would recommend.

Had a fantastic time at the Durley Dean Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but the absolute highlight was having access to the excellent spa and gym facilities—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The staff were incredibly welcoming and the service was spot on from start to finish. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Bit run down. Cold water tap was red hot. Not the best place I have stayed but not the worst.

After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure but to be fair it was great, staff were run off their feet and helped with any enquiries. Breakfast was great, pool was small but great to cool down after being on the beach all day! Out room was clean and spacious with everything we needed. Will definitely be back in the summer or even a winter break 😁

A perfectly placed hotel for exploring Bournemouth beaches. The restaurant was nice not huge selection but nice and freshly cooked. Breakfast was a good mix. Staff were fantastic. Especially Holly at front desk- she was so friendly and kind. Gave us tips to get to the best part of a beach nearby saving us loads of time and stress. Helped us get extra pillows for the room. The superior room was really lovely , clean and air conditioned was perfect for heat wave ! Will def stay here again when we return to Bournemouth

We’ve had bad experiences before with twin beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed, so this was especially disappointing. We came to celebrate our 21st anniversary and were allocated two single beds joined together. During the night the beds separated, leaving a gap in the middle, and we were both woken up after falling into it. We both struggled to sleep and ended up with back pain the next morning. We informed the manager in the morning. She apologised and offered Prosecco, which we appreciated, but unfortunately it didn’t really make up for the discomfort and disruption to what was meant to be a special anniversary celebration. We left feeling very disappointed.

The hotel did not live up to its 4-star rating. The bar was closed when we returned after dinner (11 pm) to have a drink. The coffee machine was cleaned so no coffee available. The drinking chocolate machine broken down so manually made with water. The sauna was barely warm and no steam room. One reception staff was rude to a customer checking in, the bathrooms were way out of date. Breakfast was at an additional charge but good. No help given us as we struggled up the stairs to check in. Our room was quite small and so was the ensuite. The bed was very high up! It was comfortable enough, but there was only one pillow per person. Towels in ensuite quite thin. Really lovely and quiet, even though we kept our window open. Breakfast was okay, not much choice for vegetarians. Location of hotel is great. Walk down passed the hotel car park and you are on the path overlooking the sea in minutes. The Durley Dean is a beautiful building. The inside is reminiscent of traditional hotels of day's gone by. All perfectly adequate for a holiday by the sea.

The family room was very large with a separate kids room with 2 bunk beds and a tv. The room had a faint smell of smoke and the building was a little dated. But very comfortable

Hotel needs a good spruce up....but was OK as a budget booking. Shower was so powerful it almost ripped my skin off. Things need fixing and upgrading....bathtub, carpets. Beds need to be firmer. But otherwise as a budget booking, got what I paid for. Reception person wasn't particularly pleasant on arrival.

Overall room was clean.... But lying in bed you could see cobwebs inside curtain rail housing...

Hotel was pretty run down. My room wasn't in the best state. There were marks down the wall by the bin from tea bags, for example. The lock to the door wasn't functioning properly and got advised by caretaker to rattle it to trick it into working. Car park is very small for the size of hotel so had to park in local council car park and very expensive. Didn't use pool and facilities

Convenient for the city. Bathroom toilet seat dirty on our arrival . Breakfast cold, waitress kindly agreed to heat it up in the microwave and it it was returned with along black hair on it
