Well located hotel overlooking the sea. Worth the extra for a sea facing room, and I was upgraded to a balcony room. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice, although could have been offered later, I felt. It ended at 10am.

The hotel is a historic landmark in Dover. It’s located right in front of the sea with a beautiful view of the White Cliffs in the distance and a very convenient location for walking and transportation. The restaurants and bars are excellent and popular in town.

Located just 1 mile from the cruise terminal it is the perfect place for a pre or post cruise stay. There has been some investment since we last stayed here when it was a Best Western, but the creaky, miniscule elevator remains next to reception. In fairness I'm not sure what they could do to improve it without major construction work. Sea view rooms really do have a good sea view. Note though that the rooms over the bar area, no matter what floor, are invaded by the very loud live music rising upwards. Check-in when a cruise is disembarking is slightly chaotic, lots of luggage to store, nowhere to store it but the staff do their level best. Very handy for the town centre, car rentals or a visit to the castle.

We like to stay at this hotel when visiting Dover for it convenient location to the train station, town and the cruise port. But if you would like to be near the water, town, Dover Castle, the ferry, etc this would be a great hotel for those attractions as well. The hotel staff is always friendly and they are always improving the hotel, rooms, exterior, etc. We did not use the onsite restaurants while staying here, but they do offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.

We stayed 1 night before our cruise. The hotel was quiet & very clean. The breakfast was excellent - great variety. Being American, I needed help with the coffee machine since it was different from what I was used to. A server was very friendly and quick to help. Our 2 teenage grandsons (picky eaters), were able to find enjoyable foods and were filled up! Love the beans at breakfast! Florida Family

I booked 2 rooms sea view, Queen beds and balcony. Our room was tiny with a double Bed not queen. Whilst the other room was much larger with queen bed and large walk in shower. I paid the same rate for both these rooms Unacceptable in my view.

The Hotel has seen better days. Outdated, cramped, noisy. Sinking, with uneven floors. Clogged drains. Shower doors don’t stay closed because of uneven flooring. Overpriced. Nice location right next to White Cliffs of Dover. Bad neighborhood.

The front desk check in staff were fab. Won't name chrck but they know who they are. The Chophouse was very hit and miss. Great lunch of fish and chips but terrible steak that was either cremated or raw. I blame Marco Pierre White for this. Name over quality. "I am a master chef but a total sell". Poor. Avoid the food

Request a renovated room and you’ll Be very very happy. We had a luxury room experience for 30% the fee you’d pay anywhere else in England.

Older hotel but well maintained. The restaurant adjacent to the lobby (Mr. white) was excellent for a small town. Our room had the ocean view - nice breeze in the morning. We enjoyed our stay.
