Literally just used the hotel in transit clean and comfortable bed no bar or room service open when in arrived around 10.30 and room was very poky on the ground floor. Have eaten at the Indian restaurant there and it is excellent

I stayed at the hotel recently and while there are several aspects to appreciate, the overall experience falls slightly short of what one would expect from a true five-star property. The location is undeniably excellent and highly convenient. The room size is also a notable advantage, being more generous than most London hotels, and the interior design has a distinctive, well-considered character, particularly within such a beautiful Victorian building. That said, the execution on finer details does not quite align with a five-star standard. The quality of soft furnishings and amenities — including the bathrobe, towels, slippers, pillows and toiletries — felt relatively basic and closer to a three-star level. In a property where facilities such as a swimming pool or spa are not available, these in-room elements become even more important, and currently they do not fully meet expectations. I had also made a prior request for a quiet room, which unfortunately was not reflected in the allocation. The room was positioned near a staircase, and due to limited sound insulation, there was noticeable disturbance from door movements and foot traffic early on Sunday morning. Overall, the hotel has strong fundamentals — particularly in location, room size and design — but the attention to detail and consistency of execution could be improved. It feels like a missed opportunity, where avoidable shortcomings in execution undermine what is otherwise a very strong asset — a well-located

Breakfast selection very good. Service first class, everyone so polite and nothing too much trouble. Mountford suite was very spacious, very well equipped. Fabulous comfy and warm bed. I don’t remember seeing any information in the room advising what to do in a fire - that is a meeting point. Definitely recommend to others - excellent value for money. Thank you for a lovely few days break

I had booked a senior classroom for our overnight stay at the Lalit. Upon check in, I was told I’d been upgraded to the Lalit Suite. I didn’t question, why would you when it’s an ‘upgrade’. When I entered the room, it seemed nice enough but just very bare! There was no water in the room, no body lotion or any of the other amenities. The shower gel, shampoo conditioner were bog standard cash and carry products. The pillows are terrible! Whatever happened to firmer pillows? At around 8.30am the house keeping staff started ringing the bell and when I opened the door, she apologised profusely to say she didn’t realise there was anyone there because her notes said the room was ‘out of service’. So clearly, they had either oversold rooms and put me in a room that wasn’t fit / ready, or there was some miscommunication at their end. All in all, it was not the best experience, and I am not sure I will be staying here, certainly not at the price they charge!

Fabulous hotel - excellent room - very high std of furnishing and attention from the staff. Excellent location and easy to get anywhere by tube or bus (bus stop right outside) - reasonable walking distance to various places for eating and transport. V Good Indian restaurant on premises

We had a lovely stay at Lalit. The location for us was absolutely fantastic and the tube and any amenities were in easy walking distance. Our room was lovely and spacious, as well as being clean. The sink unit in the bathroom was slightly damaged but other than that, everything was wonderful. The free mini bar and heated toilet seat was a highlight for us. The bed was also very comfortable and we enjoyed having a king sized bed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel areas as we were out of the hotel most of the day, but any contact we had with the staff we were greeted politely and cordially. I would stay at this hotel again, based on location and comfort provided at the hotel.

It was a last minute booking, but I couldn't have made a better choice. Location, cost, staff, amenities, hospitality, and comfortability was worth every bit of the price!

Lovely light and airy huge room (we were in the senior classroom). Well equipped with free (non alcoholic drinks and snacks). Cocktails were lovely (happy hour for residents between 5-7) and breakfast was amazing -worth trying the Indian breakfast - along with the great array of continental items. Great location and beautiful interior
