Mantra Nelson Bay

Great location, walking distance to everything in Nelson’s bay. The rooms were quite outdated though, lounge had stains on it, air con only at one end of the room and second shower didn’t work.

The room was very very dirty. Rooms are not maintained and there are food crumbles left by previous customers. We can understand we arrive at a public holiday day but this is not an excuse for the lack of very basic quality of a service product. I am really disappointed for this place.

Our stay at the Mantra Aqua in Nelson Bay felt like an absolute scam.We had booked two nights in a superior resort view room and what we got was a neglected,dirty,grimy and mouldy appartment that overlooked a construction site. We were shocked that this apartment is even rented out as it had so much wrong with it. To top it off,our balcony sat right over the communal smoko corner for staff and residents so none of the ‘we are a smoke free complex’…unbelievable. When approached about the state of the apartment,staff responded that ‘the photos on our website are only indicative and perhaps next time we should not book with Wotif,but with them directly so they can give us a room that is more to our taste’,go figure…We are absolutely appalled by what happened to us-please read this before you book as we are sure this is a known issue with resort staff. We feel betrayed and scammed and would never stay at the Mantra Aqua again!!!

Glad that our 3 bedroom apartment was upgraded to Penthouse, rooms are huge, and layout is superb. Our one night isn’t enough, definitely we’ll come back. Thanks Mantra

Fantastic location easy walk to everything with undercover parking. Great clean apartment, though looking a little tired, could do with minor upgrades. Comfortable bed. We had a pool view balcony, it’s worth consider special request if you prefer morning or afternoon sun on your balcony. Only downside was being top floor the balcony had no roof & no shade in daytime. Pool lovely & spa warm. Staff friendly & helpful

The rooms was old not clean the sliding doors doesn’t look and the staff was not friendly at all

Apartment was large but fridge seal was broken, room remote was broken and ceiling fan in main bedroom didn’t work. Second bathroom was also smelly. Seem like some easy fixes could have been made to make the apartment much more pleasant.

Room was fab very clean and reasonable priced great location.

Stay was very pleasant.

Staff were incredibly accommodating when I stuffed up the booking.

Room was really nice clean. Pool was nice. Check in was smooth. Construction next to pool was bit noisy on Monday morning. Location is fantastic. We will be back

Clean room clean bathroom. Under ground park. Very convenient location.

Did not see any staff for the duration of stay, very surprised check in closed so early, the hotel is in very poor condition and is over priced. The hotel photos must be from years ago when the hotel was much newer. The pool lighting is very poor boarding on dangerous. Would not stay here again.

I would definitely stay at a Mantra from my experience in Nelson Bay, but you seriously need to provide better toilet paper.

Everything exceeded my expectations. Lovely staff, one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in and so close to the little town centre/supermarket etc

I had previously stayed here with my wife & 1 year old, we returned 2 years later with my elderly parents and newborn & honestly wouldn’t stay again. I considered booking the easier accessible shoal bay Ramada hotel, but when I looked at booking on their website it mentioned “be advised some local construction taking place”. As such booked Mantra. When we arrived, the entrance is closed as there’s construction vehicles across the entrance dropping off bits to the construction site, the mantra hotel sits within the shadow of. Not only that, but 1/3 of the swimming pool is closed for construction, leaving the entry ramp for my elderly parents & pram for newborn closed, leaving pool inaccessible for them. Nothing had been mentioned upon booking. Also our neighbouring apartment, which must be an owner-resident felt the need to shout at my now 3 year old whilst walking down to the swimming pool as they were “too loud and disturbing their afternoon nap”. Not family friendly in the slightest. Extremely disappointed for me parents once in 3 years trip to Australia.
