Our stay at Hotel Universal was pleasant and convenient. We were in from Calgary for the Canadian Championships for soccer and it was only a 1/2 block away. The staff were helpful and the restaurant was good food. I would recommend this hotel.

The pool was one of the warmest we had ever experienced as an indoor pool. The sauna was also a nice bonus. The staff at the front desk were very nice, and the restaurant waiters were also very pleasant. Food options were reasonably priced.However, there was a large event, one of the nights we stayed, and it got a bit crowded in the parking lot, and in the restaurant, and loud overall.

L’hôtel était bien situé malgré qu’il n’y avait pas beaucoup de restaurants autour. Le personnel était accueillant même si l’hôtel était très achalandé. Le restaurant de l’hôtel n’était pas fameux. La nourriture n’était pas à notre goût pour le prix.

The room was renovated, but the doors are not well insulated for noise from the hallway. The ventilating system was quite loud as well and the pillows were clumpy. I did not have a good sleep. The shower head had water spitting out unevenly so it could use some maintenance. The pool area had a very strong chlorine smell. I would say for the price, there are nicer hotels in Montreal.

If staying here, there is only 1 convenient elevator that returns you to the lobby. The other elevator is on the other side of the hotel and only services room levels, no immediate access to the lobby. The elevators are small and slow.

Did not have a normal restful night and sleep because I was moving about and developing a back ache. HOpefully you will check the mattress and resolve the issue. Huge thanks. Timothy :-)

It’s a nice hotel with some amenities and well located if you want to go to the Olympic Stadium, biodome and saputo stadium. Good restaurant and bistro. Depending on the room you are set, can have some noise from guests.

Excellent hospitality, especially caring front desk woman named Miláne. Great location, comfortable bed, clean room, beautiful lobby, free parking, 10min quick walk to Metro. Spa and gym! Would stay there again!
