We weren’t aware until we checked in-even after checking in online- that you need a photographic ID for the lead guest and nearly couldn’t check in. The hotel must have been magnificent at some point in the past but it’s basic and a little bare now, which is a shame. The attached bar and red have been refurbished and look lovely. The breakfast was ok if you like a full English or similar- but other than cornflakes there is not much else on offer.

Very dated. Shower sprayed all over the bathroom. Bed wasn’t that comfortable and was only given one pillow. Staff were friendly, though.
