Great stay

We’ve been to Harrogate before & stayed at the Cairn,that’s the reason we used your hotel again. It’s proximity to the town and all the amenities make your hotel a great attraction,it’s always comfortable and the staff are always friendly & helpful.

Staff were great and the rooms spacious.

Nice big free car park which brings me back. I never eat in the cairn as nothing ever tempts me and there are plenty of places to eat in Harrogate

Horrifically over-priced. Poorly-trained staff. Fire hazard: they lock the main fire escape at night and keep the key inaccessible.

Good size family room, clean,cleaning staff friendly. Not very dog friendly though and some staff not very welcoming, shame it has changed.

Was nice , burned all my arm from the kettle as I didn’t realise it plugged straight into the wall and not lift off !

Needed an overnight between rehearsal and concert and this nearby hotel worked out fine. Just one note: my single bed was far more adequate than it appeared on the website, probably just the angle of the photo but worth having a look at to improve the advertising

Good size room but a little dated especially the bathroom. Not very comfortable bed. Woken early by noise from guest in room above. Breakfast ok and service efficient especially as there were two coach loads of guests at same time

Rather old fashioned decor, but perfectly adequate as a base for exploring Harrogate. Friendly and helpful staff. Decent buffet breakfast (extra), and evening bar meals. Spacious free car park. Just a 10 minute walk to Harrogate's shopping area and 15 minutes to the train and bus stations.

The bed room was fine for a single person. Room not warm but heater provided. Bed very comfortable. Although 3 coach parties Dining Room well organised......had to wait for the lift !! Vale for moneyt MJD

My friends and I had a reunion in Harrogate this weekend and 4 of us stayed at the Cairn Hotel for two nights from 14 March. Three of us shared a family room and were really impressed by the size of the room; free wifi was also a bonus! It is a beautiful rather grand looking property with lots of open space to sit and chat, enjoy drinks, bar snacks and generally unwind. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. We all slept well and we all enjoyed the fantastic breakfasts! The staff were all very friendly, helpful and very proactive. The hotel offers plenty of parking which was really useful. It is also only a short walk from the centre of town and we enjoyed being able to walk to all the attractions, shops and restaurants that we wanted to visit. Having seen some of the bar snack food one evening we did wish we'd tried the food in the hotel beyond breakfast! We had a fabulous time and would love to return! Thank you to all at the Cairn Hotel for making our stay such a pleasant and enjoyable one.

Lovely characterful building but in need of refurbishment. My friends and I shared a 3 bedded room. None of us slept very well due to the hot temperature in the room. Also the bedroom curtains were at least 4 inches short allowing lots of outdoor lights to come into the room. The beds were comfortable and bathroom adequate. Breakfast very average. In a convenient position for the town.

Great parking and friendly staff will use again when back in harrogate

Good for an overnight stay in a beautiful town

I disliked everything about this property. From the very first greeting to walking out three days later. The hotel is beyond tired. Everything is heavily worn and needed replacing at least ten years ago. The service is grumpy at best and the whole hotel had an underlying smell of faeces and antibac. I always look for the positives in things but I am drawing a complete blank here.

Lovely old building. My room was spacious and comfortable. It was lovely and quiet. It was very convenient for the convention centre and there was plenty of parking space. It was a little tatty in places. Most of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The budget room we stayed in was basic and small but bright and sunny. The more expensive rooms are bigger but not that much better than the budget rooms. Some of the premium rooms are very dark because windows are facing obstructions, hence very little sunlight. Had a pipe burst on our last day so no hot water for shower in the morning. The staff were very helpful and gave us alternative rooms to take a shower but non of the rooms had hot water. Overall it's not a bad hotel and the staff were great.

The single room was adequate but the humming noise during the night was constant. (Old pipe work I assume). Could not sleep. At 1.40 am had to go to reception and ask for another room. This was swiftly done. Cooler room with no noisy humming pipes.
