Lovely, clean and comfortable hotel. I highly recommend it!

Nice location clean hotel, swimming pool was a treat

Check in was ok, could do with 2 people on as people were also queuing to pick up pool towels etc. Room was clean, but bottle soaps/shampoo in the shower were empty and had to request more(should be checked when cleaning). We turned up for breakfast at the busiest time one of the mornings, had to wait for a table and some of the coffee/milk and food trays were empty but were filled quickly, so being earlier makes it a lot smoother experience. Very handy for the train station, which can take you straight into London (approx 1 hr away) and they have a ticket machine in their foyer. But if wanting to go in to Cambridge, your better getting a bus as this will take you into the main area, whereas the train is 15-20 mins walk into the old town. There is no car park so you have to park in a public car park close by.

A decent hotel but very odd policies. They won’t give you access to pool or fitness room during your stay by default and you have to stand in queue to get a separate access card everything you need to go to the pool or gym. Also, no way to heat up food as there are no microwaves in the room or common areas

A couple of things could have been explained at check in. Reiteration of breakfast included and times available. Also, that you needed to use your key to access the lift control. Food options available were not promoted nor suggested. We ran out of loo rolls during our stay, but no way of contacting reception from room. No outside seating from swimming pool nor at front of hotel. No tokens in spa lockers. Access to spa from reception was up to first floor, then back down the ground floor, but there was a door from ground floor into spa area, non accessible to guests, but open to guests when you left spa. We couldn't find a swim suit dryer, nor used towels basket in spa, so action was to carry dripping costume to room, or wrap in used towel, take to room and leave used spa towel in room.

Generally the hotel was clean Not enough soap in the bathroom for 2 consecutive nights. Clothing from previous guest left on floor and a piece of furniture had a dirty mark on it that looked like dried on sick.

Excellent facilities and very nice modern hotel

Three ladies in a group room for 4. The service was good to start off with however we were booked into room 108, which had several splats and pool stains of blood on the walls and carpet. The double sofa bed had a soiled single duvet and no cover and everything was set up for two. We had to make up the spare bed. Under the bed is covered in dust. Needs a good clean! Complained to management and was provided a partial discount. Hotel is convenient near to the station. Overall it’s a no for Novotel unfortunately.

Lovely and very comfy stay. So accessible to train station!

We had a great stay - a lovely big, clean room with air conditioning and fantastic facilities like the gym and the pool. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful. On the negative side, you have to go via reception to get a special key card and towels for the gym and pool which is not ideal (they're nowhere near each other). The breakfast had a good variety of items but as it's a large hotel it can be quite chaotic, especially at the weekend

Food rubbish worst hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time

Room was very clean. Fridge and safe nice touch. Air conditioning was great to have.

Lovely, modern hotel in an ideal location for commuting to local area. Only gripe was the air conditioning in my room was not working, which in the heatwave made the room very uncomfortable. Despite reporting the issue, it was not fixed and no compensation/alternative was provided.

Breakfast is good, general clean, helpful staff, efficient management for rapid response and great problem solving. Due to busy traffic, reception is general queue from time to time, if fast check out will be available later, it will help.

Spacious and comfortable room but the twin beds were narrower than standard singles which was a shame in such a large room. I didn’t like the glass swing door on the bathroom - a lack of privacy, especially as no lock and if the light isn’t on outside the bathroom, the door became see-through. There was mould on the shower head but apart from that the room was very clean

Aircon didn’t work in my room.

Staff was very friendly and the location was really good.

Luggage drop off helpful. Air con worked well. Staff friendly. Convenient location for Cambridge North. Good sound proofing / black out. Comfortable bed Less good: With the executive suite I expected more for the cost. No spare pillows so had to go back to reception to ask and they could only find one spare rather than two. Bed sheet loose/ didn't fit bed ( super king rather than king) Stains on sofa. Bathroom door didn't close fully and shower fan didn't appear to be working so steam going into bedroom. Mirrored toilet door... Who wants to watch themselves on the toilet?! Gym/ pool was in a strange location on the other side of the hotel accessed by going to first floor then back down to ground after walking the length of hotel room corridor.
