Very warm welcome especially for the children. Room well appointed, very comfortable beds and sleek decor. It was clean, and calm. The breakfast had something for everyone- the dining hall was rather noisy but well-kept by multiple staff member, who interacted nicely with my kids too. We would definitely return.

There are two buildings. The one across from reception is outdated and old from the carpet to the bathroom whereas the building with the reception lobby is renovated and matching the pictures online.

Overall, the hotel was OK, but there was a staff member that seemed to have an attitude and definitely left a bad impression on me. I believe his name was Jada.

Personally, i am disgusted on how my son was treated at this hotel. He had just got off a 27 hour flight from Australia. The airline lost his luggage, he was on his own and in a strange country. For Christmas we gave him one nights accommodation in the UK to get him settled before he started a Contiki tour. Because the accommodation was in my name and not my sons, which is an oversight i agree; the hotel sent him away with no coat to find other accommodation. When i heard the next day, i was horrified, i didn't know where he was or anything. I spoke to an Indian women at reception at The Royal National and explained my sons predicament of course i was a stress case and crying on the phone. The women said she would reimburse us for the money but you have to go through Expedia. With my anxiety and unable to even concentrate i didn't get the woman's name. Any way Expedia rang the hotel and they said they were not under any circumstances going to reimburse him. So as you can imagine i am not very happy at all. Especially with being a gold member with Expedia.

Hotel has a good location but I will not be returning. They have two giant lobbies with no seating so if your travel times do not align with check in you end up standing around or sitting on the floor. I find it strange that hotel lobbies usually have comfortable seating areas so you can meet people there or wait for your car but nothing here. You cannot control the temperature in your room so the heat was constantly on and you can only crack the window a little bit. The hallways smelled like smoke too. On the other hand the employees were very helpful and they do keep the hotel very clean. The bedding was very comfortable but it is very noisy. You can hear everyone around you including the water and vacuum above. The coffee shop right downstairs was excellent.

The level of customer service was excellent. A full staffed foyer, a helper at hand in every area, you just don’t get that level of service these days. Really, really great stay.

Room was very dusty. You can see they clean the main surfaces like bath tub and sink, but floor needed proper vacuuming, vents and lights and side table all very dusty
