The Knoll house is a charming classic hotel in a perfect location to acces the beach or simply look out to see the Old Harry Rocks in the distance. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing! Highly recommended

This is a wonderful place to spend a day or two if you are looking for a characterful and charming hotel. It has comfortable facilities, is family and dog friendly and is in a fantastic location. Our room had a gorgeous sea view from a large picture window and was lovely and spacious. Staff are friendly and approachable and do their very best to assist with any queries or issues. Knoll House smacks of 1940's nostalgia, with a relaxing ambiance but could use a touch of TLC. Just a few bits and bobs require attention as a little tired in places; a few mod cons such as air conditioning and integrated charging points would be great, but nothing that would be a game changer for us. Also more Plant Based hot buffet options such as sausages, hash browns and tofu scramble as standard would be nice. We had an enjoyable stay nonetheless and we would definitely stay again. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

On arrival shower did not work nor did the water drain. Took 4 hours to sort. Big mix up in restaurant over bill when we sat with friends. To our embarrassment they paid the lot. We were asked to move table at breakfast because the two of us evidently sat on a four table, there were plenty of empty tables. We refused to move. Only one coffee machine working at one breakfast, very long queues. Ordered ice cream one afternoon to eat on the terrace, chef didn’t have time to prepare before he was due to finish his shift. Only found out when we queried why we hadn’t had it. We were refunded. Service charge added to bill, which after we had paid we found was discretionary. Did not ask for back as all charges were from bar, and Aiden who worked at the bar was so helpful. We would have had to pay £10 each per day to use hotel pool. Overall hotel was a bit tired but we were quite happy with that, the location was fantastic, in the main the junior staff were very friendly and helpful. We have been to this hotel 3 times before and have never had a problem before, in the main it seemed understaffed. The jury is out on whether we shall go again, but we probably will and hope things are back to normal

The hotel is very "tired" and needs a lot of love and attention. Our meals at the hotel were good and the reception staff were good. The waiting staff in the restaurant were pleasant snd helpful. The hotel is close to Knoll Beach which is sandy and lovely.

Firstly I booked through expedia who I thought would be competitive, however I paid £70 more than apparently booking direct as got an invoice pushed through my door on the morning of checkout - they said the I paid £70 more because I booked through expedia and that was their commission. The hotel was perfect location, but very dated and old fashioned. The bar was expensive and the spa area was massively overpriced for what it was

For the price I expected to have WiFi in my room. Told it was hit and miss. Tv was a small 15inch. There was one double socket in the room used by the tv and kettle. When you look at a high level view of amenities it states WiFi, outdoor pool etc, but you need to go in further to see that both indoor and outdoor pools have a surcharge etc

The hotel’s public rooms maintain a faded charm of times long gone, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, well equipped and functional. The setting overlooking the coast could not be bettered - and enjoying it whilst tucking into an excellent buffet breakfast was great. We will definitely return.
