Enjoyed a four night stay here. Breakfast was great apart from one day they were slow re-filling. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening so can't comment. Did use the bar, great service and helpful staff. Room was a bit dated, but clean and well equipped. A good hotel, right in the centre with great access to tourist spots, bars, restaurants and shops. This was our second stay and we would definitely stsy again if visiting the city.

Incredible location and great value for money - our room was nice and comfortable. Two main things let the stay down - first off, there was a horrible smell in the hallway when we first arrived, which had spread into our room. Everything was fine after we aired it out, but we had to hold our breath whenever we left the room. Secondly, when checking out the receptionist was very rude. Didn't even look at us when we walked up to the desk, just said "bear with me" and carried on working on the computer for a couple of minutes before turning to face us. Everyone else we spoke to were very nice.

This hotel benefits from an excellent location in Lincoln, within easy walking distance of the cathedral, historic centre and local amenities, making it a very convenient base for visitors. However, the rooms themselves are a bit underwhelming for the price and setting. The furnishings feel dated, with decor lacking the polish expected given how desirable the area is, and the overall space could benefit from a refresh in soft furnishings and modern touches. The bathrooms appear in need of updating, with fixtures that are functional but starting to show their age. Given such a strong location, it is easy to imagine this property being just as impressive inside as it is outside—the only thing holding it back is a light refurbishment, especially in the bathrooms and guest rooms. As it stands, it remains a good, practical three‑star choice for a city break, even if not quite as memorable on the inside as its surroundings.

The hotel is looking very tired. We had a standard double room, all that was left when we booked. Perhaps other rooms are better. Our room was small, hot and very dimly lit. A heavy curtain had to be kept closed as we got up as there were no nets and we were overlooked from the car park, and the dim lighting made it difficult to get organised. While clean, the bathroom had peeling paint and loose shower controls. Furniture had chipped paint. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. The location in the Cathedral Quarter is excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days. Location brilliant - with added bonus of very reasonably priced car parking. Staff very helpful and polite. Good breakfast and we also enjoyed dinner at the hotel - which again was reasonably priced along with good bar prices. My only reason for marking it down was the rooms are a little ‘tired’ - especially the bathroom but maybe I’m just nit picking. It didn’t spoil our stay and would recommend.

I had stayed here previously a few years ago and was surprised to find how run down this hotel was. The layout of reception etc… had changed now requiring going up and down lots of stairs. Our beds had seen better days. The paint was peeling off our bathroom door and the television unit. The shower was freezing and shot water all over the bathroom floor. Breakfast was welcome to the 70’s era. Stale cornflakes and tinned mandarins. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict off the made to order menu and the eggs were rock solid. Totally inedible. We won’t be returning.
