Great location for Lincoln city centre. Hotel staff are welcoming and friendly. Car park was good and safe. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice restaurant area although it is best to book for busy times. The decor is a little out dated but they are currently undergoing refurbishment so will look good when finished. All in all a very pleasant hotel. We would definitely stay again.

I asked for a room with a cathedral view. It was , but at the end which was covered in scaffolding! I booked a month ago, so surely, they would have had another room with REAL views of the cathedral. The TV in the room worked at first, then broke down. A female member of staff came to the room and tried all the obvious things like switching it on and off! (obviously, we had tried all this). A male member of staff came then went away to try something He came back and said that something had 'tripped' in the television and it was now fixed. I am afraid I did not sleep that night as I was so worried that the TV would catch fire. We had looked forward to a festive evening in the hotel bar, but no, the bar lounge was now the Christmas Day dining room. The bar was still open so we went into one of two other lounges. It would have been more festive in a churchyard! It was empty except for us, which is not surprising as there was no tv and no music playing. We saw nobody, so decided to wrap up well and go out to a local pub which was great.

I enjoyed the breakfast, but the evening meal on Christmas Eve was disappointing. Strange smell in corridors Room was looking a bit tired but was comfy enough. And very quiet in the garden view room.

Very ugly hotel from the front (I think it must have been an old 1970's office block). The entrance at the front is weirdly upstairs from the reception, which is downstairs at a separate entrance. Anyway, the staff were very lovely, very welcoming. The room was fine, clean enough but very tired (heavily scratched desk, old carpets etc.) and the mattress was very lumpy. But having travelled for 12 hours from the Middle East, I could have slept on stones. So I slept very well. The Wifi is good, the T is good, and the heating works well, so it was pretty comfortable. For a 3* its what you'd expect.

Had four nights at the Lincoln Hotel in a family room whilst visiting friends and family in the area. The location of the hotel is excellent and the charge for use of the car park a very reasonable £7 a night. The room, though a little tired (particularly the bathroom fittings) was large and comfortable. Breakfast was served in a very pleasant room overlooking the cathedral and was excellent. Evening dining options were limited with seemingly no ‘bar snack’ options, though there are a plethora of restaurants in the area. When we were there, the lift was out of action but we had been forewarned and in truth it didn’t present a problem. Would certainly consider using the hotel again if in the area.

This independent hotel is brilliantly situated, with excellent rooms- both common and bedrooms. Staff invariably friendly. The place is spotlessly clean, and breakfasts are first class- indeed can easily be cooked to order.Car park capacious, particularly for the centre of the city. That said, we did find our bed unusually hard, as were the pillows. If some softer beds ARE available, it would be good to be able to opt for one! One other quibble:no electric shaver points in bathrooms, not even in the gents loo. And with the sole lift out of order, no offers to help carry cases upstairs...

The room was very tired looking. We had to complain about the noise from a wedding disco which you could hear very clearly in our room. We had to ask to move as there was another function on the second night. They did move us to a deluxe room which was lovely.

The hotel is looking quite jaded - flaking paint in the stairwells and rust on some window frames. The bathroom was outdated and we never got the shower to produce hot water, though the bath water was hot. It seems a bit penny pinching to charge £7 for car parking. Service was slow in the breakfast room, it appeared to possibly be understaffed. Our stay was okay, but for the price we paid I would have expected a step up in all areas.

Overall, average. Good things about the Lincoln Hotel: the location is great, right next to the Cathedral. All the staff are very good, friendly and helpful. Food was good. Decent size room, the room itself was clean and warm. Not good things: a lot! the rest of the hotel was cold. As others have said, the whole place is "tired", and needs renovation/overhaul. The corridors to the bedrooms smell of urine. Lift was out of order. Many other minor things. Just "ok" if just for one or two nights. But won't stay there again.
